The Star’s Peter Howell sat down with Robert Pattinson at the Cannes Festival earlier this year and has now written a short article entitled Twilight’s Robert Pattinson: Unded Sexy. The article is well written and makes for a wonderful read although very little information is actually brand new.
CANNES, France–There are no crystal decanters of blood for Robert Pattinson to sip from, or milky white virgin necks to nibble upon.
Pattinson’s treats, arrayed before him on a glass table shaped like a kneeling Greek goddess, aren’t your typical vampire fare: a bowl of potato chips, packages of green apple mint gum and a box of See’s chocolates imported from the U.S.
The world’s sexiest undead man eschews all the caloric temptations, apologizing as he nips off to another room for a few drags on a Camel Lights cigarette before commencing this interview.
“I’m sorry!” he says, pausing only to shake hands. “I’ll be right back!”
Pattinson returns a few minutes later, flashing a smile filled with extraordinarily white teeth. Despite the 28C heat on this sunny day at the Cannes Film Festival, he’s wearing two shirts (a short-sleeved one over a T-shirt) and cotton jeans with holes in the knees. (More)

Thanks to Maria from TwilightSingapore for sending in these videos which were taken by her friend Katie at the Tokyo New Moon Fan Event. These clips show Robert Pattinson and Chris Weitz answering questions from Japanese fans who were far more reserved than the usual screaming fans that we are used to. More details have recently been released regarding the New Moon UK Fan Event, and there is good news for those who do not win tickets in the ballot. There will be a red carpet event so it looks like fans will still be able to show up and see their favourite stars. The official release states:

Shortly after their amazing article and photo shoot with Robert Pattinson, Vanity Fair is asking fans to take part in a poll which is meant to determine which one of the two actors’ fan “craze was craziest”. Is it DiCaprio’s 90s phase or Pattinson’s current Twilight mania? The answer is quite clear as the votes currently show 89% in favour of Robert Pattinson. Nonetheless, Vanity Fair’s Jessica Flint is still not convinced:
Although I personally don’t understand the infatuation with Pattinson (luckily, I grew out of my teenage obsession phase long ago), I certainly understand where today’s teenagers are coming from. But I’m still not sure that RPattz hysteria is as intense as Leo-mania was. What do you think?

Accompanying the amazing Vanity Fair photos that we have been posting recently, is an article by Evgenia Peretz entitled “Twilight’s Hot Gleaming.”
Peretz, who, as it happens, profiled DiCaprio in 2004, follows the Byronic British actor from the Comic-Con convention in San Diego to the Waldorf Towers in New York City, as he prepares for the November 20 release of Twilight’s sequel, New Moon. There are no wild nights out at clubs—even if he could go out without being mobbed, Pattinson would prefer to curl up with a good book.
Rather than working his way through supermodels, Pattinson, who’s been living out of three suitcases for the past year, has been feeling overwhelmed, self-conscious, and guilty. “I’m trying not to drown,” he says in his hotel room at the San Diego Hard Rock Hotel, which is littered today with beer bottles, old scrambled eggs, a half-eaten Twix bar, and a dirty pair of jeans on the living-room floor. And he notices that he hasn’t made his bed. “Oh, God. Sorry about that.”
“I’m unbearably self-conscious about stuff,” he admits. To the point where, while filming scenes before the army of New York paparazzi that has been following him around, he is terrified that his “ass crack is showing.

Charlie Bewley who portrays Volturi vampire Demitri in the upcoming Twilight Saga: New Moon recently did an interview with Glamour magazine, and, of course, he was asked about Robert Pattinson during this interview. Mr. Bewley discussed the advice he had received from other cast-mates on dealing with all the press and hype surrounding the film. He gave a little insight into what Rob deals with in terms of press and how it hasn’t changed him at all. I don’t think anyone is really surprised that such a wonderful young man as Robert Pattinson has remained so grounded and centered in his life. Have any of the other cast-mates given you advice on how to deal with the hype, because Robert Pattinson especially has a lot to deal with?
I think Rob is dealing with it very, very well. I mean given the fact that he is the most photographed person in the world and that he can’t leave his front door. I mean when I speak to Rob, he doesn’t seem like he’s changed too much from when I first met him or from what I’ve seen of him in interviews before that. He’s still a very grounded person, someone who massively enjoys what he’s doing and an avid musician so I think he’s having a fantastic time. Did he give me advice? Not really. I think everyone deals with it in their own way.
As clips from the upcoming New Moon keep getting released, fans are now able watch an extended kiss scene between Edward and Bella. Clearly those who wish to remain spoiler free are advised to skip this post.

The New Zealand Herald is bringing us yet another interview with Robert Pattinson, where he talks about New Moon, Leonardo di Caprio and about how despite playing our favourite vampire, he wouldn’t want to be one even if he could.
“When you think about it, being a vampire means you have to kill people and feed on their blood, but all you get in return is you can run really fast, or throw things around. That’s kind of a lame trade-off,” he surmises.
“It’s the same with living forever. I wouldn’t want to, under any circumstance. I don’t think anyone would want to, would they? It’s like my great aunt.
“She’s 97 and a very, very funny woman but every time I talk to her she says things like; ‘When you next come to see me, can you please bring me some poison?’ I’m like; ‘Yeah, OK’ because I know what she means. Live forever? I couldn’t think of anything worse…”
