Many thanks to Marlene for pointing us to makingofeuropa.net which gives us a behind-the-scenes look into How To Be. The page on How To Be features a variety of clips from the director, producer, and some of the cast. Although Robert wasn’t interviewed, he is featured in pretty much all of the videos. They are all really fantastic, giving us more insight about what the movie truly is about and how it all came together. I’ve linked to all of the clips and featured an excerpt from each of them:
Oliver Irving (director & writer): I was drawing together lots of anecdotes. And that’s one of the reasons Robert Pattinson as Art works so well because he hadn’t been to drama school per se. He came at it through trying to understand what its about and playing a version of himself.
Justin Kelly (producer): How To Be is a bit different in the sense that in some ways it’s about the middle class; a real, original kind of take on life and its quirks
Joe Hastings (composer, co-writer): The lead characters’ tracks were written between me and Oliver and the lyrics were written between me and Oliver and we always envisaged that music surrounding it would reflect in some way the music of the lead character, but just in a preposterous or incidental way so it fits with scenes and ties in well.
Rebecca Pidgeon (actress): I spoke to Oliver about it and I asked how he wanted it to sound. He wanted it to sound American. So she is an American woman with a British son, she brought him up in England. I think she very repressed and businesslike and I think she’s quite horrified
Johnny White (actor): Working with Robert is a dream come true. Ever since I saw Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. No, it’s great, he’s very good.

If you were like me and breathlessly watched the countdown on the Official Twilight Movie site, waiting for a new, extended trailer to appear… now you’re sitting there wondering what the heck happened. According to the Twilight Lexicon:
Verified through Summit to clear up confusion once again regarding the trailers for the movie. The ONLY trailer that Summit has produced as of this moment is the trailer that you can see on Myspace. This trailer was given to MySpace as an exclusive and is therefore not seen elsewhere until Friday. On Friday the SAME teaser trailer that you have already seen will be placed on the official Twilight movie site as well as other sites all over the web. This also includes movie theaters!
Right now the low-quality version is only available. Maybe since tomorrow is “Twilight Tuesday” we will be able to get the HQ image…we just have to wait and see! In the mean time enjoy this stunning looking picture.
Also, the official Twilight movie site has placed up a countdown until the the official teaser trailer is released on the site!
Our forum is back up! So you can go ahead and register again. We are still in the tweaking stages so you just have to bear with us through this process.
We are looking to hire a new site tech as soon as possible. Your duties will include helping out with any technical aspect of the site that the present site staff will not be able to deal with. This includes installing plugins, fixing code, being able to diagnose and fix site problems, basically anything to do with keeping the site in good technical working order. You must be able to devote the time needed, be at least 16 years of age, have copious amounts of knowledge with html and css, know and have dealt with mysql databases, and know how a basic site like ours is hosted. Serious applicants only. We do not have time to deal with someone who does not know what they are doing.

Let me just say that Rob really does just take your breath away. It’s almost too much how good looking he is and he just has a presence about him. And Kristen is beautiful. They were both so kind. They really ARE Edward and Bella.
We [Rob & Calicat] talked a little, with 3 other tweens that had showed up later. He wasn’t his normal shy self, maybe because there wasn’t a huge crowd jabbing pens down his throat… ;) I asked him to do the famous Edward Cullen pinching bridge of the nose move….he was like, “huh?” I was like, Hello!!! It’s THE signature move!!! And he was like…well, I have my own signature moves! And he demonstrated a few…and let me tell you….
Wowza.

Catherine Hardwicke has once again updated the blog at Greetings from Twilight. She speaks of the filming being officially wrapped up, their encouncters with the forces of nature, and what she will be doing next to get the film ready for December 12th!
Twilight Mom Calicat and livejournal user Infektion were able to snag some pictures of Rob (and with Rob!) while on set in Southern California. Take a look:
Maggie (aka ScullingOnSquam) was visiting the set of Twilight and recently posted about her second day there. In it she says:
At one point Rob said, ‘I felt like I was falling apart during that take…’ and Catherine told him, ‘Then go with it. Fall apart. Fall into her. You are falling so into her, just use that.’ And of course the following take was flawless.

We are STILL getting e-mails concerning the forums. As per the last newspost we have made: they ARE NOT complete thus you WILL NOT be able to register. Also, you WILL NOT be able to login with your old login because all users have been deleted when the forums were upgraded. We will let you know when you will again be able to register and post on the forums.

MTV just released new videos of the Twilight stars answering “burning questions” from the fans. Of course when it came to Rob the ultimate question was: “Will you marry me?” Check out his response in the video ;)
We have gotten a few emails concerning the forums. As it is evident, the forums are still under construction after we were forced to restart due to upgrades. You will not be able to register as the forums are not completely finished. We will let you know when you can register once more.

In addition to this news, a Twilight Mom user (amanda31), visited the Twilight set and was lucky enough to spend some nice quality time with Rob (about 45 minutes)! Here’s a bit of her report for you to view:
We talked about a bunch of stuff (that I won’t want to go into too much detail about for his privacy)…nothing groundbreaking, but still interesting, including:
- Washington, DC – that’s where I’m from, and even though his sister used to live there, he had never visited, so he was asking me what the city was like
- He told me about a car that he almost bought for $1000 recently, and other cars that he likes; he also wondered if he could get Volvo to give him one of the cars (they had 3 of them on set); oh, and he also said he just got his license recently, so he’s still practicing
- He wondered what town we were in since all the small downs looked the same (he actually asked me if we were in OR, ha)
- He said he was a little worried because he needed to get an apartment now that filming was over since he plans to move to LA (something he never thought he’d do); he said he’d like to live in a trailer or in the back of a car
Twilight Series Theories have posted their on set experiences and photographs! They are really amazing.
Here are some snippets from their reports, links to the full set reports will follow.
Not too long after the filming began, Robert Pattinson made his way onto the set. Our host introduced Rob to the group,and after a few minutes, I spoke up and told him who I was and introduced Kia. Rob was a very nice, and seemed a little quiet. Then we found out that he was very tired. We made sure to thank him for his time, then he walked off to prepare for his scene.
Robert Pattinson is so sweet. He got to set about an hour after Kallie and I did. He walked on, spoke to Logan (his gorgeous double) and Catherine Hardwicke, walked to the snack cantina, grabbed a can of Coke and walked to the area that they had set up for filming. Peter grabbed him and he spoke with two contest winners from a Portland radio station. After some jibber-jabbering, Kallie and I squeezed in for some Robert face time, and all I managed to say to him after he revealed he was “exhausted” (say that in your best English accent) was that he needed to drink some Red Bull!
Much like his character, Pattinson is modest and soft-spoken. He doesn’t seem to be aware of his own charms. But they haven’t escaped the notice of his director.
“Isn’t he gorgeous?” Hardwicke gushes. “The thing that’s great about him is he really does — especially on film and in real life, too — he does feel like he’s otherworldly. I mean, he doesn’t look like a normal guy. And when you read the book, you think, ‘Who on the planet can live up to this description?’ But I think he does. He’s just got that chiseled face that photographs exactly like it’s described in the book. When you read about the sculptured cheeks and chiseled jawbone and everything, it’s like, ‘Wow. Did she write this for Rob?’”
Also according to the Twilight Mom’s the teaser trailer for Twilight is due out as early as next week. The teaser will also be featured in theaters on May 9th in front of the film Speed Racer!

New was just released from MTV Movies Blog that Robert will be composing the lullaby Edward wrote for Bella! This is incredibly exciting. Kristen Stewart initially broke the news:
“Yes, it does exist in the movie,” Kristen Stewart told me while I was interviewing her and Robert for the article that just went live here, on the topic of “Bella’s Lullaby.” “And cutely enough, Rob is writing it on the piano as we speak.”

Here are a couple of excerpts from the second article which primarily focuses in on Rob:
I thought I couldn’t deal with the humiliation of ‘Could he be more good looking?’ Then I kind of read it [as] it’s not like the author is saying Edward is the best looking guy in the world; it’s from Bella’s perspective who is obsessed with him, Pattinson says. When you take into account that, he could look like anything. When you are in love with someone, you look past all the flaws.
Like his co-star Stewart, Pattinson is signed for a number of possible Twilight sequels, but he isn’t sure what he’ll do next. One thing is for sure: He’s not so keen on returning to the damp and cold weather of Oregon after coming down with bronchitis for the first time.
I never took antibiotics before in my life. [My infection went away] within two hours, Pattinson says. I’m a big advocate for that now. A Z pack every day.
