Faheem Ahmed and Anish Patel of Rice University won the 2009 mtvU Oscars® Correspondent contest. Once Ahmed and Patel arrived at the Academy Awards, they took to the carpet and interviewed the likes of Tina Fey, Zac Efron and Robert Pattinson. Rob did not make it into their final video, but here is Faheem’s recap of the interview:
“Because we’d both seen The Wrestler, I asked [Pattinson], ‘Who would you be afraid to fight in the ring?’” Ahmed recounted. “He said Reese Witherspoon, because he’d be afraid to smack her around too much. Then, since he played a vampire in Twilight, I asked him what other supernatural creature he’d like to play. ‘Satan,’ he said.”

What is your favorite scene in Twilight:
I love the shot where the birds all fly away when I’m walking into the school. It looks like the whole world is dying, but it’s done in a very subtle way.

Hardwicke, incidently, says you have these “long beautiful vampire fingers.”
RP: I think what she meant is: I have very weird hands. There’s a scene in the film where my character plays the piano, and I actually had to learn it myself because they couldn;t find a hand double that was convincing enough to match my weird fingers.
Are you a lucky guy?
RP: I think I am. I remember when I was younger I used to write in my diary: I want my luck to be spread. Never give me anything too lucky all at once. I’ll take a little luck now and then, but spread it for 70 years. Now that all of this is happening, I’m sure the rest of my life will be ruined. [Laughs]
In case you were wondering – it appears that Rob didn’t do his shopping for his trip to Japan at the local thrift store. The Look Book has posted the following regarding Rob’s new outfit:
Robert Pattinson wore a Prada grey mohair suit with a brown popeline shirt + green striped satin tie to the premiere of “Twilight” in Japan.
