British actor Robert Pattinson who was catapulted to fame thanks to his character Edward Cullen from the movie Twilight, now faces the challenge of getting into Salvador’s Dali “skin” in Paul Morrison’s film Little Ashes. According to British press, Little Ashes is a Drama covering the first years of artistic creativity of the surrealist painter.
It appears that controversy will be the ingredient that will fuel its release, as it has been reported that it will portray a romance between Dali and Federico García Lorca, played by Spanish actor Javier Beltran.
Pattinson commented recently: “It is a really small movie, I am not sure what would have happened to it if Twilight had not been successful”. This independent film was made with a 3 million Euros budget, it’s opening day is still being defined in Europe and the United States.
Meanwhile, Pattinson will continue to captivate teenagers and although New Moon, Twilight’s sequel, has not even begun to be filmed, Summit Entertainment has set the opening date of June 30, 2010 for Eclipse, the third installment of Stephenie Meyer’s vampire saga.
