The Appeal and Future of Robert PattinsonComments Off

What is the appeal of Robert Pattinson? What is his future? These two articles, one by a Hollywood reporter, and the other a “Twilight Mom” fan, try to answer these two questions.
Steven Zeitchik writes in the Hollywood Reporter “Risky Biz Blog”:
You see, Pattinson, for all his media celebrity, is caught in that weird netherworld where he’s on the cusp of major stardom but still has movies that came out of a less heady time in his career.
The bigger question is what happens to Pattinson after this wave, with the choices he makes now – does his career go commercial or critical, pinup or Oscar? And does he become a box-office draw in his own right?
A quick look at other teen hearthrobs who burst on the scene after starring in a massively popular movie shows there’s a path to that goal, but not an easy one.
And Jennifer Wood shares her thoughts about the appeal of Robert in her essay called “What is it About Edward Cullen?“:
From the ends of his inexplicably famous hair to the tips of his graceful, piano-playing, guitar strumming fingers; from the soft whisper of his Edward voice to the deep, gravelly, bluesy growl of his singing voice; from his adorably geeky performance in The Bad Mother’s Handbook to his Hogwarts champion in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, there is just something so real, so normal about Robert Pattinson the man that makes him lovable and downright sexy.
