News Catch Up!

It’s been a slow news week in Robland, but we’ve got a few older tidbits to bring you today.

The first is a newspaper clip from the Kuwait Arab Times discussing Twilight versus High School Musical at the MTV Movie Awards (and we all know how that turned out!). Thanks to Hana for the scan!

We’ve also got a few articles for you:

Marcus Foster On Hanging With Rob

As for the fame that’s come to the stars, Marcus hasn’t seen a change in Rob. “Whenever I see him he’s the same, which is great. You know, you see people who fame changes, but it’s great, Rob is still the same old guy so it’s really nice.”

Rob’s Reactions To Fame (thanks, Alison!)

“Rob cannot be in public and be static for more than five seconds without being mobbed,” marveled Mike Welch, who plays Mike Newton. “If he’s in a room and he looks down and he looks back up, [in that instant] everyone in the room will be staring at him. It’s kind of ridiculous. [That level of fame] is literally Rob Pattinson and Barack Obama.”

And finally, we bring you a report and pictures from Gertrude, who represented us at the MTV Movie Awards (the lateness of the report is our fault, not hers!).

Hi, girls. Well as I’ve mentioned, no luck on any sort of Rob encounter this time around. Megan and I showed up early in hopes of getting a good spot for the arrivals. No such luck, since MTV’s red carpet is ‘hidden from the public’ and the people you see in the bleachers are cast for those spots, along with all the other seat fillers. We met a few disappointed Twilight fans who had come out just for the arrivals, too.

So we waited for the gates to open to see what we could manage. Apparently the end of the red carpet was near the entrance doors, but was covered with a huge hedge. Yes, we had to result to peeping through the bushes in order to see anyone! HAHA But that didn’t last long since other fans damaged the hedge by tearing huge holes to look through. Pathetic, I know. But everyone there agreed that if it meant even a GLIMPSE of Rob, it was worth it. EVERYONE WAS THERE TO SEE ROB! Event staff eventually came out and set up barricades five feet away from the hedge.

It got close to the doors closing, so I knew Rob wasn’t going to walk the red carpet at that point. Not to mention, a girl in the crowd said that E! Online reported that he wasn’t on the red carpet. So inside we went.

You already know what happened during the show. Our throats are strained from all the screaming we did. All we did was gaze in Rob’s direction and thank God we were in the same room as him! haha They kept moving him around, but we eventually found his original seat. Kristen was 2 seats down from him, and Taylor 2 down from her. It’s like we paid $150 to gaze at Rob and watch him play with his infamous hair (SIGH)! :-0 Sooooo WORTH IT! Especially to be there to see the New Moon trailer. Still reeling from that too!

But the night was not a total Twilight loss. While hanging outside the after party, we managed to catch Mike Welch and Christian Serratos as they were heading in. Totally random, since they went by unnoticed until we screamed and made them come over. These two were beyond gracious. They were extremely nice and friendly, and were willing to accommodate all of the fans. Attached are our pictures. Sorry, we didn’t get a chance to ask them questions for the site, but you can imagine the chain reaction we created. (Not to mention, we were still reeling from Zachary Quinto saying hi to us (Star Trek Crush!)). Security eventually stepped in to kick us all out! :-(

We did congratulate them on the Best Movie win, which they were grateful.

I’m also attaching a few stage pics although they’re not the greatest quality. Think we were too far.

Thanks again for the opportunity to represent you!
