Twilight: New Moon Soundtrack is to be released on October 13th, but it is now available for pre-order at Amazon.com. The soundtrack sells for $9.99!

Stephenie Meyer’s site has the following information regarding the soundtrack’s release:

The first single has officially been confirmed for the New Moon Soundtrack! Death Cab for Cutie has written an exclusive song for the movie entitled ‘Meet Me On the Equinox.’ Below is a statement from the band about the song:

“We are very excited to be a part of this amazing series of novels set in our own backyard. It just seemed a perfect synergy that a band from the Northwest would create a song for a series of novels set in the Northwest. We wrote ‘Meet Me On the Equinox’ to reflect the celestial themes and motifs that run throughout the Twilight series and we wanted to capture that desperate feeling of endings and beginnings that so strongly affect the main characters. This song marks the first attempt that Death Cab for Cutie has ever made at contributing new, unreleased material for a film and we are proud to be a part of the Twilight legacy.” — Nick Harmer / Death Cab for Cutie

Below is an article via PR Newswire regarding the upcoming November 17, 2009, release of Robert Pattinson’s pre-Twilight movie, How To Be.

NEW YORK, Aug. 27 /PRNewswire/ — Robert Pattinson’s portrayal of brooding, tormented vampire Edward Cullen in the blockbuster Twilight film series has made him one of Hollywood’s hottest new stars. Now, watch as he reveals another, surprising side in How To Be, a side-splitting comedy coming to DVD from IFC Films and MPI Media Group. A must-see for all Pattinson fans, the DVD hits stores on November 17, 2009. The disc includes an exclusive interview with Pattinson, never-before-seen footage and many other extras.

In How To Be, the young British sensation Pattinson stars as Art, an aspiring musician stuck in a rut. Twenty-something Art is a supermarket worker who has just been dumped by his girlfriend and is forced to move back home to live with his emotionally distant parents. Art is hopeless and depressed until he discovers the best-selling self-help book It’s Not Your Fault and spends his inheritance money to hire the book’s oddball author, Dr. Levi Ellington, as his live-in life coach to get him through his “quarter-life crisis” and help him be “more normal.”

Pattinson reaches new heights as an actor as he impressively embodies both Art’s self-pitying side and his droll, hilarious wit. The actor also performs on the film’s pop-rock soundtrack — a collection of original songs and classics by artists including The Roches, Captain Beefheart and Love.

His performance in How To Be earned the young star Best Actor accolades at the Strasbourg International Film Festival, while debuting director Oliver Irving received the Audience Award at the New Orleans Film Festival. Amanda Bell of Examiner.com called the film “completely entrancing and beautiful,” adding, “Robert Pattinson’s character becomes someone you just want to reach out and hug.”

How To Be sterling cast also includes Rebecca Pidgeon (The Spanish Prisoner, TV’s The Unit) and Michael Irving (Ruth Rendell Mysteries) as Art’s parents, Powell Jones (Anna Karenina), Alisa Arnah (Wallander, Jane Eyre) and newcomers Mike Pearce and Johnny White as Art’s best friends.

The DVD is packed with bonus material: a 20-minute making-of featurette including extended scenes; behind-the-scenes footage and an interview with Robert Pattinson.

Rob on the Cover of Premiere MagazineComments Off

Posted by Isabel // Categories: Images,Press //

Some new photos of Robert Pattinson have been popping up here and there all over the internet, and it seems that one possible source may be the French magazine Premiere. The next edition of the magazine, with Robert Pattinson on the cover, comes out in stores on Wednesday. You may see the cover here in our gallery.

This is a special edition with an exclusive interview with Robert Pattinson and information regarding the filming of New Moon. The interview took place during the summer filming of New Moon in the medieval city of Montepulciano in Italy.

During the interview, Rob had the perfect opportunity to speak, with humor and clear perception and understanding regarding his sudden fame. He has come to the conclusion that movie sets are now the only place he can have a private life.

This issue offers a 6 pages spread of exclusive information, as well as images from a fan filled set! Read the translation here. In addition, there are a few other thumbnail sized photos, that seem to be from this same shoot. These are also in our gallery and may be viewed beginning here.

More Portraits from Comic-ConComments Off

Thanks to MrPattinson.com, we have new outtakes from from the Entertainment Weekly photo shoot that took place at Comic-Con. Some of the shots include Chris Weitz, director of New Moon, while most are Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, Taylor Lautner and Ashley Greene. I think the most striking photos, however are those of Robert Pattinson alone. To be perfectly honest, I’ve never seen his eyes such a shocking and hypnotizing color before. You may view these amazing photos beginning here. Enjoy!

The Improper has a very interesting article comparing Robert Pattinson to James Dean and Marlon Brando. The article points out the many similarities in the themes of the first movies of the three handsome young actors and the characters they played. You may read part of the article below then follow the link for the remainder.

The site is also running a poll that asks the question: Is Rob his generation’s Brando or Dean? Or someone else? You may vote at the link below.

Robert Pattinson has captured the hearts of an untold number of fans with his portrayal of Edward Cullen in “Twilight.”

Rob’s brooding good looks and the film, about eternal love and teen angst, are strikingly similar to two monumental teen idols from previous generations – James Dean and Marlon Brando – who starred in similar movies.

Every other generation or so, an actor comes along who captures the imagination of their contemporaries. Brando and Dean were those actors in the 1950s.

Rob is having the same breakout success in “Twilight.” Ironically, both Brando and Dean became international sensations in coming-of-age movies about teenage angst in tumultuous times.

What makes them so alike and what makes them different?

Dean, a relative unknown, vaulted to fame in “East of Eden,” a film based on a novel by Nobel Laureate John Steinbeck. He played the troubled son of a farmer in a story loosely based on the Biblical tale of Cain and Abel.

His performance in the film foreshadowed his role as Jim Stark in “Rebel Without A Cause,” which has parallels to “Twilight.” Both Dean’s and Pattinson’s characters are angst-ridden, misunderstood outcasts, trying to find themselves, if for different reasons. (more)

Rob in a Whole New LightComments Off

Posted by Isabel // Categories: Press // Tags:

One of the great bloggers over at The Examiner has posted a very interesting article regarding the CGI for New Moon, and how it effects Pattinson. This saga in particular has more special effects than the original Twilight, 450 effects to be specific! Rob, as we have learned, is a major element in these effects because of Bella’s hallucinations. He is not just a voice as he was in the books; he is a vision or a dream like Edward. Rob was placed in front of the green screen in order to create these visions. Edward’s appearance must be perfect which means that Rob needed to be placed perfectly so the alignment wouldn’t look as though he was acting in front of a green screen.

Bella’s scene was shot weeks earlier and now Edward must be placed into the scene seamlessly. This means Mr. Pattinson must be in the perfect position, with the exact same lighting and the exact same camera angle as was used with Ms. Stewart. Every mathematical equation is used and computer controlled cameras are used to ensure that is exactly what happens. Check out the article here.

Then the Visual Effects Department must marry the two (the two shots, not the two characters) into perfect alignment, erasing the entire green screen and placing Edward in Bella’s arms. To match this shot will take about 15 days of hard work from both cast and crew and, in the final film, will only have about 5 minutes of screen time.

From what we can all tell from the trailers and teasers, the hard work has paid off! Our favorite vampire looks awesome, as does the rest of the cast!
