‘Eclipse’ Filming Locations Being Kept a Secret

It is probably safe to say that no other film production in history has ever had the fan enthusiasm, curiosity, tenacity, and voracity as we Twilight fans. Right? However, it is also probably safe to say that while we do love our Twilight stars, probably none more than our own Robert Pattinson. Filming around fans can and sometimes is rather difficult for Summit Entertainment. For this reason, it is sometimes necessary for them to take steps like the ones mentioned in the report below in order to bring the fans the best Twilight Saga movie possible. But, we must admit that in the end, it is totally worth the effort.

Canada.com reports the following:

While crews were filming at a closed location south of Nanaimo for the past week, the unit publicist in Vancouver was unable on Monday to provide much more information than had already been dug up by curious and enthusiastic fans.

Eclipse did film visual effects shots near Nanaimo for two days last week,” said Toni Atterbury with CM Productions Canada.

Security around Twilight locations on Vancouver Island and the Lower Mainland has been exceptionally tight. Stars Robert Pattinson, Taylor Lautner and Kristen Stewart are back in Vancouver making the third film in the trilogy, Eclipse, until the end of October, attracting unusually keen attention from fans.

The young stars are tracked by fans to their hotel and favourite restaurants and any bars and clubs where they might try to sneak a drink or see a band.

Fans travel from all over North America and as far away as New Zealand to track their vampire heroes with the hope of getting a picture or an autograph. In some cases they have flocked to filming locations by the hundreds, creating unprecedented security headaches for the producers.

Earlier this month, it was reported that Eclipse producers had asked newspaper websites and radio stations outlets in Vancouver not to disclose the filming locations, citing possible security and safety concerns for both the cast and crew, as well as the fans.
