Interview with the Vampire in The Irish Daily Star
The Irish Daily Star is gracing us with another New Moon feature, including an interview with Robert Pattinson and an excellent discussion of the Twilight phenomenon. In this article Robert talks about his acting, fame, and how he has learned to cope with it all.
After attending this year’s Academy Awards, he recalls “I was just thinking, ‘What train did I get on to get here?’ I got here and I’m sitting in the second row. To think back to the year before…it’s unbelievable.”Despite his problems with fame, as time goes by Pattinson seems to be coming to terms with it. “You try and stay kind of Zen about it,” he says. “You just have to learn to accept it all. I guess the whole thing is that you don’t want to wake up one day and realise that you’ve turned into someone you weren’t before. And it wasn’t your choice. That’s the danger. You can’t get it back again.”
“But it’s always really up to you. Most of the time you can control it to some degree. It was driving me nuts a couple of months ago, but you just learn to deal with it. There’s no point in being negative. If you keep saying ‘oh I hate this, I hate this,’ then you go crazy because you can’t stop it.”
Pattinson certainly won’t be able to stop the continuing success of the Twilight series, which shows no signs of waning.
