According to Tweed Daily News Kingscliff Cinemax will be one of three Australian cinemas to screen Robert Pattinson’s film Little Ashes in January 2010. Little Ashes has been released in 2008 in many countries around the world, but it seems that it never made it to Australia. This is great news for Australian Rob fans and you can read the detailed article below.

Twihards can satisfy their craving for Robert Pattinson early next year when a Kingscliff cinema screens one of his rare, earlier films. Kingscliff Cinemax stands to be one of three Australian cinemas to screen Pattinson film Little Ashes in January.

Prior to his rise to fame in 2008 film Twilight as blood thirsty vampire Edward Cullen, Pattinson stared in Little Ashes, a film about the life of Salvador Dali. The film was released overseas in early 2008 but never made it to Australia. Thanks to Mayfrayn for translating an interview with Robert Pattinson in November’s issue of the Italian magazine Panorama. In this interview Rob talks about Edward’s character in New Moon, about being grateful for his loyal fans, and even offers some new information about what he likes to do in his free time. You can read the translation below. For the Italian magazine scans click here.

Your character, vampire Edward Cullen, is 109 years old. You just had your 23rd birthday. What do you want to do in the next 86 years?

Robert Pattinson has a good laugh, and this is a scoop, because in the first two movies of the Twilight Saga, gorgeous, pale and tortured, he practically never laughs.
“I know what I’ll do in the next two years, more or less, because I signed some contracts, but I’m not used to plan anything. I reason with my balls ( in England we call it instinct, in a poetic way), not with my brain. I’m slave of my subconscious”.
He is dressed with his usual dress: ripped jeans, black fade t-shirt under a checked flannel shirt. On his foot, All Star, even them black. A style so casual that it gains a label: “homeless chic”. [read more]

Rob was recently interviewed by Anita Singh from Telegraph.co.uk about an interesting topic, one that he has not talked about. I found this interview to be enticing for different reasons. Rob/Edward has been portrayed as a sex symbol, he is constantly asked by fans to be ‘bitten’, and it seems that a deeper moral of the book/movie has been forgotten. Abstinence is a theme which is huge throughout this series, yet, it is done in a way that it seems to be overshadowed by the sexiness of the actors and the vampire illusion.

Going back to the roots of the book, author Stephenie Meyer is a practicing mormon who does not believe in sex before marriage. This remains throughout the entire series. Pattinson discusses this very topic, and how the abstinence is actually being taught even through the sexiness of the film.

Pattinson, the 23-year-old British actor who plays vampire Edward Cullen, said the chaste relationship between the two lead characters is the secret of Twilight’s appeal. He and Kristen Stewart, who plays schoolgirl heroine Bella Swan, share no more than a kiss in the first three books.

“The success of the Twilight books comes from the fact that fans can lust after Edward and yet, certainly in the first book, there’s no actual sexual contact between him and the series heroine. Twilight is a big metaphor for sexual abstinence, and yet it’s erotic underneath. There are so many elements in the story which are sexy,” Pattinson told The Daily Telegraph.

Isn’t our own imagination better anyway? Isn’t this the message we want our little girls to receive? Rob, yet again, hits on very deep theme of the series he has helped make a success. To view the entire article visit The Daily Telegraph here.

Times Live has published an interview with Robert Pattinson, taken while he was on the set of Eclipse in Vancouver. The interview was taken over the phone and Rob talks about his usual feelings regarding the phenomenon that is The Twilight Saga. You can read the article below and find out if Rob feels entrapped by his vampire role and if he gets embarrassed by having millions of fans all around the world.

Far easier for him to stay in his hotel room, cocooned in five-star luxury, with a cellphone that has run out of charge, safe at least from the girls chanting his name outside.

Robert Pattinson, 23, from Barnes in southwest London, ought still to be one of Hollywood’s beautiful dreamers, moving up the ranks of movie acting, enjoying his American adventure, his guitar, his good looks. Instead he lives in danger of being trampled in a stampede of teen love. He plays the vampire Edward Cullen in The Twilight Saga, the biggest books-to-screen phenomenon since Harry Potter – in which, by the way, Pattinson was Cedric Diggory, heroic golden boy and victim of Voldemort. Boy, his life has changed since Hogwarts. In Canada, he is shooting Eclipse, the third of Stephenie Meyer’s quartet of novels. [read more]

You can also read a report of Jessica’s experience at the fan event below.

Fan Event in Munich

I think I should start with the beginning of the whole story: I was in America when Hypovereinsbank gave away tickets for the event. I tried to get two of them but even before the website was open the server crashed. I had to go to bed and my friend in Germany tried for several hours to get tickets. In the morning I got the good news, terrorized the school and when I went back to Germany we started planning everything as we live 380 miles away from Munich.

On November, 13th we started our trip, visited Munich and on the next morning we went to the Olympiahalle. We were in front of the hall at 9 in the morning; [read more]

New MTV Radio Interview with Robert PattinsonComments Off

Posted by Julia // Categories: Press //

As the frenzy surrounding the release of New Moon continues, MTV Radio caught up with Robert Pattinson for a short interview where he talks about working with Chris Weitz and his famous ‘orientation guide’ and also reveals that he has not really done anything romantic in his personal life. You can read the article below:

MTV: Tell us about working with Chris Weitz. What were your thoughts when you first received his now-famous “orientation guide”?

Robert Pattinson: When he gave that out, it was such [a surprise]; I mean, I’d never had that from any director. It was 40, 50 pages long, this thing. And this is in addition to a bunch of letters and e-mails and everything [he had sent the cast], trying to show that he’s on the same page as us and he’s completely with us in making the film. And he didn’t falter from that attitude throughout the whole movie. It probably sounds ridiculous how much praise this guy gets. I was just with his wife and him in Japan, and she was even sick of it! But he is like a saint. He’s one of the best people I’ve ever met, let alone directors. I think in a lot of ways that shows in the movie — it’s got a lot of heart. [read more]

We are pleased to bring you yet another positive review of Rob’s performance in the upcoming Remember Me, written by Sean Callahan for The Examiner. The article contains spoilers and can be read here but to summarise the general idea, the author strongly believes that Remember Me will outshine New Moon, and that:

If the trailer is any indication, Remember Me promises to be the one film Pattinson does that will not be forgotten.

We are extremely pleased that Rob’s talent is being recognised in other productions and cannot wait for the movie’s release in March 2010!

Janna: Do you find that Edward was more relatable in this movie and that you just knew what you were doing whereas as last time you weren’t really sure?

Rob: Yeah, I mean, I think, definitely. This is the one I always related to –[to someone noisy off-camera] Shutup– yeah this is the one that was always my favorite book that I have. I guess I felt like I knew how to do it before–and also, there’s something about Chris. Chris Weitz has a very calming influence on everybody and it just seemed–I don’t know. It just seemed like having seen the first one, the whole franchise being set up and, yeah, it was kind of–everybody knew what to do with their characters and stuff.

Following the release of the Remember Me trailer last week, Moviefone’s David Ciminelli has written an extremely positive review of the upcoming movie and of Rob’s performance as seen in the movie trailer. Despite Rob’s denial that are similarities between Remember Me and the Twilight Saga, the author still feels that the general conflict and romantic setting is reminiscent of Rob’s performance in Twilight and New Moon.

You can read the article below and head over to Moviefone’s website for the official trailer and a chance to vote if you think that Remember Me looks good enough to make you want to watch it on opening night.

Finally, please note that the article contains mild spoilers for Remember Me.

Robert Pattinson’s next non-vampire movie doesn’t open for another four months but that didn’t stop Summit Entertainment from riding on ‘The Twilight Saga: New Moon’ buzz and releasing the trailer for his romantic drama ‘Remember Me’ a few days before the Nov. 20 release of the latest big screen offering from Stephenie Meyer’s best-selling series.
