Vanity Fair Article

Accompanying the amazing Vanity Fair photos that we have been posting recently, is an article by Evgenia Peretz entitled “Twilight’s Hot Gleaming.”

Peretz, who, as it happens, profiled DiCaprio in 2004, follows the Byronic British actor from the Comic-Con convention in San Diego to the Waldorf Towers in New York City, as he prepares for the November 20 release of Twilight’s sequel, New Moon. There are no wild nights out at clubs—even if he could go out without being mobbed, Pattinson would prefer to curl up with a good book.

Rather than working his way through supermodels, Pattinson, who’s been living out of three suitcases for the past year, has been feeling overwhelmed, self-conscious, and guilty. “I’m trying not to drown,” he says in his hotel room at the San Diego Hard Rock Hotel, which is littered today with beer bottles, old scrambled eggs, a half-eaten Twix bar, and a dirty pair of jeans on the living-room floor. And he notices that he hasn’t made his bed. “Oh, God. Sorry about that.”

“I’m unbearably self-conscious about stuff,” he admits. To the point where, while filming scenes before the army of New York paparazzi that has been following him around, he is terrified that his “ass crack is showing.

You can read the rest of this preview here and for the whole article plus Bruce Weber’s exclusive photographs of Rob (not available online) you will need to pick up a copy of the December issue of Vanity fair, due to hit the stands in the US on November 10th.

  3. It’s so sad that Robert is being so mobbed and photographed that hes becoming paranoid. I know he says he was a paranoid person before this but I’d hate my misfortunes or habit to be broadcast across the world too. poor guy. I wish the media would cut the crap about his relationships too, I know the fans wanna know but jeez if you’re not going to believe him then why ask? If he has someone who keeps him sane through the mania that has become his life, good for him and he should be allowed to enjoy that in privacy.

  4. Has anyone else noticed that Catherine Hardwicke is a trouble-maker? She really says a lot of things that make Rob sound pathetic – someone needs to gag her- she is not good for his career. I was disappointed with the content of this article. You would think that a magazine such as Vanity Fair would come up with more unique questions, something we don’t already know about the guy. We hear the same stories over and over again. And does poor Rob have anyone around him that can give him encouragement and raise his self-esteem? The man seems incredibly insecure – humble is nice, but he really is down on himself – someone needs to point out his great qualities and let him know that the fans are fans because of him – not Edward. If he did not do such a great job, or if he was not so charming and witty in interviews, we would not have fallen in love with him, even though he played Edward Cullen! Can someone in his camp please lift this man up and put a stop to the media trying to bring him down!? I hate to pity him, but someone needs to help him learn to love himself as much as we do!!!!!!!!!!

  5. I think has has done an excellent job performing Edward and it was because of it that Twilight is a sucess. Rob is a fantastic artist, musician and has great qualities.
Rob: be yourself, be happy and keep going.
    The rest is not important.
    All the luck for you.
