Robert Pattinson Interview with STV’s Grant Lauchlan

Earlier this month we reported that STV were giving fans a chance to ask Robert Pattinson their burning questions, which were in turn going to be asked by Grant Lauchlan in his interview with Rob on Monday, November 16th. The interview has now been made available and the extended version can be viewed here.

Rob talked about a number of subjects, including what his family thinks of his newfound stardom, and how co-star Taylor Lautner is giving him a run for his money.

He also spoke of the fan adulation that’s greeted him, and explained what his strangest experience yet was: “A bit of blood-letting a while ago, girls coming up having freshly cut themselves, saying ‘I’ve literally got blood dripping and I want you to suck it.’

“It’s happened a few times,” he added. “I think people are getting a little bit confused about the whole story that you’ve got seven-year-old girls asking for you to kill them, and so it was like ‘I just want to die with you.’ It’s like, um, yeah, call the publicity department!”

Not only that, but Rob went into greater detail about the journey of his character Edward Cullen in New Moon, and explained the dividing line between the vampire acting out of selflessness for Bella Swan – or just thinking about himself.

And finally Rob also found the time to answer some fan questions – and say hello to some very special STV viewers!

Rob, Kristen, Taylor and Chris Weitz were welcomed warmly to say the least and wildly to say the most! This time next week, New Moon will finally be in the theaters. The anticipation has been building and the hopes are high. Since we received word from Summit Entertainment that New Moon was officially a go, fans have been pondering how the script and directors would deal with the backseat that Edward took in the book. Of course, Edward being gone is pivotal in the story, yet, how could they please the fans without Robert Pattinson’s presence? All those questions have been answered and so far the crowds seem pleased with the solution. In the book, Edward was in Bella’s head, which is very easy for a person to visualize. On screen, Edward becomes an illusion that only Bella can see. Perfect! Bella still goes without Edward, but the fans don’t have to go without Rob!

Hollywood.com’s reporter, Thomas Leupp, sat down with Rob and interviewed him. He asked him questions about how he felt with the more predominant role in New Moon. Rob also talks about working with a new director and what it’s like to have to do the slow motion scenes. Of course, Rob is filled with some great one liners! Enjoy the video!

We have a Friday treat for you all! The editing is finally done and without further ado here is the Pattinson Online exclusive one on one interview with Rob during the New Moon press junket in LA. The time was short, but Rob was fabulous and gave us a fantastic interview. Enjoy!

We will have a transcript of the video by the weekend just in case you missed anything. Like Janna said to Chris Weitz, don’t be intimidated by our video equipment…we left our fuzzy boom mic in our other pants that day!
