Episode 016 "Time Travel"

Isabel: Hi and welcome to the PattyCast! I’m Isabel.

Joy: And I’m Joy.

Janna: And I’m Janna.

Isabel: And we’re back--after what? A couple weeks?

[Laughter]

Janna: Short hiatus.

Isabel: Short, very short. We couldn’t seem to agree on what day to record on, and so here we are. Alright, let’s hop into the news, Joy?

Joy: Alright, we’ve got quite a few upcoming events, including some DVD releases. On October 13th, the New Moon soundtrack is being released, and the official -

Janna: Woohoo!

Joy: --Track listing has finally been set, and so there’s some great stuff on there. Unfortunately, as we already knew, Rob is not on the soundtrack, but there’re still a lot of great artists. So, check that out. You can pre-order that through Amazon. You can also pre-order the Haunted Airman DVD, which is finally being released in the US. It’s a great movie if you haven’t seen it. It’s pretty creepy, and Rob does some really weird stuff, so make sure you get that. October 27th are the 2009 Scream Awards. Rob has been nominated for Best Fantasy Actor, and they’re still taking votes. So, if you go to the Scream Awards website, you can vote as many times as you want for Rob. Next month, November 16th of course, is the long-awaited New Moon premiere in Los Angeles, and we are hoping that everyone will show up, including Rob.

[Laughter]

Joy: But, you never know; he tends to back out of things at the last minute. The day after that, How to Be will be released on DVD in the US, as well. Then, of course, November 20th is the official New Moon theatrical release in the United States. We also have a complete list of international release dates that have been announced on our New Moon countdown, so if you go to our website, you’ll see a banner for that.

Isabel: Hey, I’m really excited for New Moon. I just wanna say--never probably gonna say it again: really excited. I wanna see this one, it looks really good.

Joy: It does look really good.

Janna: It does look good.

Joy: Speaking of New Moon, the media floodgates have definitely opened. Summit has been releasing all sorts of great new stuff including some new posters, new Character One sheets, and promotional stills. It’s been just coming and coming. Even the LA Times had some gorgeous on-the-set pictures from New Moon.

Janna: They did.

Joy: Very professional, and just beautiful, absolutely beautiful.

Isabel: They’ve always had really good ones.

Joy: Exactly, you can see those in our gallery. So, everything’s just kind of coming up for New Moon, you know, they’re really pushing it

Isabel: I’m excited to see the merchandise.

Joy: There is so much merchandise coming out.

Isabel: But, I’m interested in seeing the clothing. Like, I wanna see the quality of the dress that Hot Topic’s gonna make--that Bella’s birthday dress.

Janna: I wanna see what’s coming out at Nordstrom.

Isabel: Yeah, I wanna see the Nordstrom stuff, too.

Joy: Yeah, Nordstrom has some gorgeous jewelry and things, and you know, Hot Topic is releasing Bella’s birthday dress which a lot of people have been waiting for cuz, you know, that was designed exclusively for the film. It’s so beautiful, and so Hot Topic has got that exclusively for sale. Tons of people are really pushing this. Burger King, of course, is gonna be bringing out their line of Burger King crowns and probably -I dunno, kid’s meal toys and all sorts of stuff. Get your own little sparkly Edward, I guess. I don’t know exactly what it’s gonna be.

[Laughter]

Joy: Maybe they’ll work with Hot Topic to put out the Edward body glitter, I don’t know.

[Laughter]

Joy: But there’s so much coming out ,and--of course--the media is picking up on this, you know? Rob is on the news all the time, and Rob is of course on the cover of every magazine from here to Timbuktu; it’s just insane, so we’re trying to keep up with all of that. It’s like an influx of information and magazines.

Isabel: Vanity Fair’s coming out soon. That’s one to watch out for.

Joy: Rob will be on Vanity Fair.

Isabel: Definitely not October, since it’s already October, so it might be November. Cuz didn’t he say October or November?

Joy: Yeah. So, it should be coming out soon, and they always have gorgeous photo shoots and really well-written articles, so I’m excited to see that. Continuing with New Moon, the Rome Film Festival will be airing twenty minutes of the film--not the full film, from what I can understand--on October 22nd as a part of their international film festival. Right now, tickets are completely sold out. So, sorry to those of you who wanted to go and couldn’t get tickets. But, there will be a red carpet. Several of the New Moon stars are confirmed to appear, but we haven’t had any information on Rob’s being there yet. They tend to keep his appearances pretty secretive these days, especially with sold-out tickets and security and all of that stuff. So it could just be that he shows up at the last minute, and we don’t get any information, so we’ll keep an ear out and just keep checking the site. Of course, at the MTV Video Music Awards, Rob and Kristen presented a brand new trailer for New Moon which was fantastic. It had a lot more scenes and a lot more Edward in it which I know that a lot of people had been missing from the second trailer that was released; that was mostly about Jacob. So, what did you guys think about the trailer?

Janna: Well, first of all, I’mma let you finish -

[Laughter]

Janna: But Beyonce had the best video of all time. Better than the New Moon video. Just gotta throw that out there.

[Laughter]

Janna: Come on, you knew that was coming.

Isabel: I’mma let you see it.

[Laughter]

Janna: New Moon trailer, I appreciate you, and I’mma let you finish, but Beyonce’s Single Ladies? Best video of all time.

[Laughter]

Joy: You’ve been waiting for that, haven’t you?

Janna: Of all time!

[Laughter]

Janna: That’s pretty much the only thing I planned.

Joy: Wow.

Isabel: I liked it. There’s a lot of Rob, a lot of Ashley Greene, there was a lot of-

Janna: Helloooo Ashley Greene!

Isabel: Helloooo Ashley Greene. But, I just really enjoyed seeing that. It’s getting me so excited. I’ve never been this excited for this kind of movie before, I guess.

Joy: I really like how much of the Volturi and the wolf pack they’re showing; they’re really pushing that.

Isabel: I love the Volturi. It looks really good.

Janna: Me, too. It looked so good.

Isabel: I’m impressed by the fact that it seems so much of a bigger budget than Twilight had. I dunno how to explain it.

Joy: Yeah, exactly, and they’re just so creepy, like with the red eyes and everything. And Dakota Fanning looks fantastic, I mean, she just looks so creepy and evil like Jane does, and I’m just so impressed by everything they’ve showed so far. And even at the end where, like, Edward is getting the crap beat out of him, that is just so fantastic looking. Like, the special effects and the stunts just look so much better than Twilight did. So I’m excited.

Janna: You can definitely see the difference in budget, even in the trailer.

Joy: Yeah, exactly. Well, moving on, of course Eclipse has been filming in Vancouver, and according to some Canadian newspapers, the locations have been under wraps pretty much; they’re trying to keep it as secret as possible, which is smart. I think David Slade seems to be a pretty focused kind of director and doesn’t really seem like the kind of guy who would appreciate having his filming interrupted every ten minutes by some paparazzi or fan trying to take pictures and everything. So, they’re kind of keeping it secret for now, and of course there are people who are trying to find it, and there have been some set pictures released, but for the most part, it’s pretty low-key right now, which is good. David Slade also is apparently making Eclipse pretty dark. Everyone’s been saying it’s just so much darker and more intense and you know, I think Eclipse is like that, too. Like, there’s a lot more action, a lot more of Bella’s inner struggle in the book, too. So, I think he’s kind of got the right idea. I dunno if you guys have been following David Slade’s Twitter, but he posts the most gorgeous pictures from the set. Like, he just has such an eye. Like, I just love looking at his pictures, so I’m excited to see what kind of cinematography he’ll be doing with Eclipse. I think it’ll be really gorgeous.

Janna: So, next we’re definitely, definitely handing out a Duh Award to Ted Casablanca for even doing a story such as this: Rob, it’s apparently been reported, has been banned from doing his own stunts after Jackson Rathbone was injured on set. This is completely a Duh Award because A) He never did his own stunts! Have you seen the man? He’s gangly. Okay?

[Laughter]

Janna: Second of all, apparently there’s an anonymous crew member who’s all snippy, and he says that Rob doesn’t do anything and blah, blah, blah. Rob is the reason that people are watching the movie saga, and he is the reason that you have a job. So, a second Duh Award goes out to you for being an idiot.

[Laughter]

Joy: Janna’s in a mood today.

Janna: And that’s all the Duh Awards I have today.

[Laughter]

Isabel: It’s been a good week, you can tell.

Janna: It’s been an awesome week, lemme just tell you. I’ve had a great, great week.

[Laughter]

Joy: So moving on from the Twilight universe, Remember Me is still set for a February 12th release date. We have not heard anything. Summit is pretty much keeping this under wraps, but fans are desperate for news; they’re reposting old set pics, a lot of people have been making fan-made posters and trailers which are actually really good. I’ve seen some really great ones, Thinking of Rob--which is a great blog--she actually put together a fan-made trailer that had a lot of spoilers cuz she’s read the script--which of course has been leaked online--but watching it, it was really well done. I mean, she just used set pics and part of the script to put it together, and it looked really good, especially for a fan-made video. So, people are just like, “Give us news!” I would think Summit would be capitalizing on this New moon and Eclipse frenzy, and just promoting the crap outta this movie, but they’ve just been really silent on it. I mean--I dunno.

Janna: It sort of disappeared after all of the things that happened in New York, and how they were just on him like flies on rice. All of a sudden, there was just nothing.

Joy: I’m just wondering like, maybe they’re just too busy with New Moon stuff? I mean like, it is a big undertaking--all this New Moon and Eclipse promotion--so maybe they’re waiting for like, the Christmas season when it gets to be like, the end of November, December, and even into January, that’s when they’re really gonna start promoting? But by this time we should be seeing at least, you know, more than that one dinky poster that just says “Remember Me” on it. Like, doesn’t even have any pictures on it.

[Laughter]

Joy: I mean, there should be at least something official coming from Summit, but it’s almost like they forgot that they’ve made the movie, I don’t know.

Isabel: They don’t want to.

[Laughter]

Joy: It’s really weird.

Isabel: Well, they wanna do New Moon first. They wanna focus on one thing at a time for the studio, probably. That’s my guess.

Joy: I just think like if I was Summit, I would maybe not be going into full promotion for Remember Me, but just like, a little hint here and there, you know? Maybe like, “Hey we’re releasing this New Moon stuff, and hey, don’t forget Remember Me, our other movie that’s coming up with Rob.” You know, like that’s what I would do cuz a lot of people are like, “Oh yeah, he did make another movie.” And they’re like, forgetting about it, so I dunno.

Isabel: What I was gonna say is they might actually if*it just would make sense -they might just make one of the previews for New Moon for Remember Me; that would make sense, I would think. If they did a trailer or something.

Joy: That would be fantastic. That would be a very smart idea. I know that a lot of people just wanna see maybe some official stills and things like that, cuz all we’ve seen are set pics of Rob in that flannel shirt, you know? I mean like, I’m just thinking that they should be--even if its just a few little things, they could really be capitalizing and building up the buzz for this movie.

Janna: Yeah, something.

Joy: But anyway, you know, obviously Summit has a lot of issues, so we won’t talk about that today.

[Laughter]

Janna: Maybe their idea is like, let the Twilight thing take over and then, after New Moon, ride the New Moon wave.

Joy: Yeah, you’re probably right.

Janna: Who knows?

Joy: Well, speaking of issues

[Laughter]

Joy: Let’s go into the Soapbox!

Janna: Woo! Dun dun dun!

[Laughter]

Isabel: Alright! Okay, let’s hop on to the Soapbox. Let’s put our Soapbox hats on!

[Janna is singing in the background: If you want it, let’s do it]

Joy: I actually do have a hat, it’s very nice.

Isabel: This is an extensive Soapbox: it’s a three part-er, if you will -

Joy: A three part-er?

[Laughter]

Janna: A whole pack of soap!

Isabel: Yeah-

Janna: We went to Costco.

[Laughter]

Isabel: That’s why we fled through the news, to get through to the more -in-depth feeling things we like to speak about.

Janna: Super-sized soap box.

Isabel: Yes. So, I’ve Twatted about it, I’ve Tweeted about it, I’ve talked about it, we’ve asked you, we’re begging you again: stop asking us about Rob’s love life and Robsten. We don’t care. We don’t know. We don’t care.

Joy: We actually are starting to hate it.

Isabel: Yes. And it’s not -we just wanna clarify, we get asked about it on our site twitter at least three times a week, yeah? At least.

Joy: Oh at least, that’s an understatement.

Isabel: At least. That’s -I’m being generous here. We get e-mailed at least everyday-

Joy: We even get people on our person Twitters being like, “So, what do you think about Robsten?” and we’re like, “We don’t care!”

Janna: What? I’ve been asked in real life by somebody I thought was my friend, and then I had to stab her.

[Laughter]

Joy: You had to stab her.

Janna: And I’m like, “Seriously? Why are you asking me?”

Isabel: My sister asked me!

[Laughter]

Janna: Oh, God. Why?!

Isabel: And it’s not even that it’s about Kristen--we’re not haters. It doesn’t matter who he’s dating. People have been asking us about his love life since he first showed up with his friend Nina Schubert, and it’s just-- we don’t care. Like, if you care, that’s fine. Ask someone else who cares. We just don’t care, so don’t ask us.

Joy: Yeah, it’s really annoying, too, you know?

Janna: Exactly.

Joy: Cuz the people who do ask us are really kind of forceful about it, you know? Like, I mean, I’ve had people who just will not give up. Like, it is their mission in life to try to convert me to Robstenism. And I’m like, “No!” I hate it. I don’t wanna hear about it. I don’t care if they are running off to the Alps for a ski vacation, whatever! Like, they could be secretly married right now-

[Laughter]

Joy: And I’m like, I don’t freakin’ care!

Isabel: Yeah, that’s not what we’re here for. There are other websites -I’m sure there’s a Robsten-Land.com or something. Go there!

Joy: I’m sure there is. Ha, Robstenland.com.

Isabel: Go! Go congregate there, and, I mean, just do that.

Janna: Robsten supporters unite and start your own damn website.

Isabel: Just don’t do it over here.

[Laughter]

Janna: Or, you know, do something constructive with your time.

[Laughter]

Joy: If people care about it, great. You can follow this and whatever, but please don’t waste our time with it, like we’ve said so many times that we don’t care. Our official stance is that we don’t wanna talk about it, so please respect that cuz it wastes a lot of our time that could be spent replying to e-mails that are actually about Rob, or

Janna: Exactly.

Joy: Focusing on like, getting more official things done. Not that we wanna sound ungrateful, and we love that people wanna e-mail us, and they wanna come to us for certain things, but it’s gotta stop.

[Laughter]

Joy: Not--the gossip -

Isabel: Yeah, it has to stop at some point.

Joy: I mean, we have such a clear no rumor, no gossip, no paparazzi policy that it just kinda frustrates us when people say, “Oh, but what do you think about this?” And, “Oh I saw this rumor,” and, you know, our policy is that we don’t talk about it. Whatever we personally think, we don’t talk about it. That’s not part of our job, it’s not professional

Janna: What we personally think is--our opinion is that because that’s our stance. You know what I mean? It all falls into one: we don’t care.

Isabel: Yeah, he could be dating anyone, and it’s not something we care to comment about. It’s--we don’t think that being a fan of Rob means being that invasive. It kinda just ties into the whole idea of Project FLANS, or whatever it is. It’s his private life, it’s their private life, if they enjoy each other, then let ’em do it, but I don’t -it just feels icky to talk about it.

Joy: It does feel icky. It’s really invasive. It’s just hard to think like, what if everything that I did, like, every guy that I talked to, or you know, any date that I went on, what if that was plastered all over the internet and thousands of thousands of kids--and grown-ups, too--were talking about it? Like, that would just make -to me that is so much worse than someone following me down the street with a camera, you know? Like, as much as we hate paparazzi pics, like, invading into someone’s personal relationships? That is so much worse to me.

Janna: That’s so, yeah.

Joy: I just--I feel like that’s such a personal thing, and people should just be respecting his personal space. I mean, yeah, he’s a celebrity, and you know, cameras and publicity is part of his job and his life, but at the same time, people, just think about how you would feel, and to be honest, the people how listen to this PattyCast are thee people how feel like we do; they respect him, and so we’re kind of preaching to the choir here, but for those of you who do agree with us, spread the word. Help people understand that this is a really personal thing for him, and you can still be a fan without being intrusive and invasive, and we’ve talked about this extensively, but obviously you can tell that it really gets under our skin. It really bothers us and

Janna: Yeah.

Joy: Because it’s beyond just being annoying: it’s a waste of our time, you know? It’s time that could be better spent doing other things, and to be honest, at this point when we see e-mails and things like that that are, “What do you think about this?” And, “Robsten this,” we just delete them. We don’t even bother with them, and that’s a sad thing because we love our fans, and we wanna be able to respond to these e-mails and talk about things on Twitter, and just have fun with you guys, but we can’t when you’re not respecting our wishes. You know, and you’re going against the policies that we’ve set, so, you know, we’re just asking for a little respect for us and for Rob--and for Kristen, too, you know? It’s not about Kristen.

Janna: And if we could throw it out there, too--just because it’s started recently--for Sam Bradley Marcus Foster, and Bobby Long, too, don’t ask me about that stuff. I would not tell you anything that I know personally about them. Just because they’re fledgling musicians, and they’re just starting out, and they do want to get close to you guys so that you can spread the word, it doesn’t mean that you have any right whatsoever to be in their personal lives. I’m not gonna answer you. I’ve had people come up to me at the shows specifically to just ask questions, and not only is that rude to them to try and get information about them personally, but it’s kind of rude to me because I wanna be able to talk to you and have fun with you. I don’t want you pumping me for information. I mean, that’s annoying.

Joy: You want to be able to talk to Sam and Marcus and Bobby, and have them trust you that you’re not gonna be like, “Oh, guess what Bobby did tonight?” you know? I mean--

Isabel: right, exactly.

Joy: That’s a personal relationship that you wanna be able to maintain with trust. So, I mean.

Janna: Exactly.

Isabel: And like all of us have that sort of relationship, even with the behind-the-scenes people, like the managers and the agents, the people that we talk to, and it’s just- I think Janna brought up a point that it’s polite, and joy, too, that we’ve set these boundaries. So, we’re just asking you to be respectful and mindful of the fact that we’ve already told you how we feel. There’s no need to badger us with the same questions over and over again. It’s been stated on our site Twitter, on the website itself, and on the PattyCast. I’m not sure how else we can get the message out there that there are other websites for these sorts of purposes, but for us you’re here for the news, the in-depth discussions, and the silliness, but we don’t- we just won’t go into the personal part of the business; that’s just not us.

Joy: Exactly, and people have said, “Ooh, it’s cuz you hate Kristen and you just don’t wanna see Rob with her!” And it’s not about that. We like Kristen.

Isabel: We are not waiting to date Robert Pattinson, trust us.

[Laughter]

Joy: He’s like way too young for all of us, sadly. No just kidding.

[Laughter]

Joy: But seriously like, I mean, we joke about Kristen, and we make fun of the fact that she’s a little crazy, and she blinks too much, but we do like her. And, even if we didn’t like her, she’s still a person, and she still deserves respect just as much as Rob does. So, that’s a lot of our driving force behind this, is you know, we really feel like they deserve respect, and invading their personal lives is not respect, and we’ve talked about this so much, and we’re so grateful to the fans who have gotten behind us on this, you know, and it’s an ongoing battle. Like, it’s never gonna be perfect; there’s always gonna be paparazzi following them, and people wanting to talk about, “Oh, where did they go? And is she wearing an engagement ring? And oh my gosh, she’s pregnant!” You know, and it’s just, we don’t wanna talk about it.

Isabel: Yeah, but that said, it’s gonna keep going on and stuff like that, but we’re doing our part to stop the gossip on our website and on anything affiliated with us, so that’s the message we want to give people who come to our website or who are fans of us, then. We’re not here to spread the gossip or just spread anything like that.

Joy: Yeah, so you know, if you see someone talking about Robsten, or whatever, that’s fine if you wanna get into that, but I know I’ve seen people say, “Ooh do you think Pattinson Online knows about it?” And, “Will they tell me?” And I’ve seen other people on Twitter say, “They don’t talk about that stuff, go somewhere else.” And that’s fantastic, we appreciate that because honestly we spend a lot of our time just- I mean, cuz we get how many e-mails a day? I mean we get so many.

Isabel: A lot, a lot.

Joy: And a lot of them are really important.

Isabel: Cuz I count myself the day shift, and you’re the night shift, and so there’s so much stuff.

Joy: We deal with a lot of important e-mails from partners and affiliates, and you know, management and things like, that

Isabel: Advertising.

Joy: And to have to go through 20 e-mails about Rob’s love life is just such a waste, and it’s so frustrating to us as professionals cuz this really is our job, and we work so hard at it. So we’re just asking for a little respect from fans, and like I said, our PattyCast listeners are fantastic; you guys have heard us ranting about this kind of stuff for weeks and months-

[Laughter]

Janna: It’s our favorite thing to do!

Joy: And we love that you’re still listening, and you haven’t just been like, “Shut up already!” but we feel really strongly about this.

Janna: Speaking of our PattyCast listeners, into our second part of the Soapbox. Please, for the love of mozzarella cheese, stop picking on me and Isa! Have a sense of humor. Okay, look. We didn’t love Twilight, we’re not huge Twilight fans. Guess what? I’m 27 years old! I’m allowed to not think that Twilight deserves a freakin’ notary award ,or literary award ,or Oscar, or any freakin’ kind of award.

[Laughter]

Isabel: Any award, exactly. It’s not that we’re even hating specifically on the story.

[Laughter]

Isabel: I’ve met Stephenie Meyer. I like her. I mean, there’s books that she’s written that I really like. It’s supposed to be funny, and it’s- have a sense of humor, we’re not really haters. We just like to make fun., and we like to make people laugh.

Joy: And you like to make fun of me for liking Twilight, so it’s a good balance.

Isabel: I know, exactly, it’s a balance. Joy makes fun of me for liking other things.

[Pause] I can’t think of anything, but I mean

[Laughter]

Janna: Joy makes fun of me for messing up my words like, ’notary award.’ We like to laugh, it’s supposed to be funny.

Joy: Yeah.

Isabel: If you don’t laugh , you’ll cry, so let’s just laugh.

Joy: We get so many e-mails, people are like, “Why do you hate Twilight fans?”

[Laughter]

Joy: Like, we don’t.

Janna: Look how excited we are for New Moon! Look how many times in the last PattyCast we’ve been like, “Yay! New Moon!” I don’t hate Kristen Stewart. I don’t dislike her. I just think she’s A) easy to make fun of, and B) she cracks me up because she just wants everybody to know that she’s just so edgy and dark, and it’s like, dude, we get it, you’re dark.

[Laughter]

Isabel: Yeah.

Janna: You’re so rad. You have messy hair, and you like to wear flannel. I just think she’s funny, she’s easy to make fun of. Same with Twilight, it’s funny.

Isabel: Yeah, it’s just so easy to make fun of. And it’s -come on, guys. It’s not like a literary masterpiece, can we all agree with that?

Joy: Even I agree with that, and I’m a huge fan.

Isabel: Like, it’s not.

Joy: But you know, and even Stephenie Meyer would agree with that. Like she’s said before, “I’m not a writer I’m a storyteller,” and the story that she’s got is fantastic, you know? There are just things that make us laugh, and we wanna joke about it. We’ll make fun of everything. We make fun of ourselves, and you know--I mean, when we joke about things like Twilight, and Rob, and his lack of fashion, and things like that, it’s just because we think it’s fun. We’re not trying to be mean. We’re not cruel people, we just think it’s fun. So you know, if you don’t like it stop listening, you know?

[Laughter]

Isabel: Exactly, that’s my stance on that. Yeah.

Janna: That’s my stance, and that’s pretty much--that’s a good wrap up.

Joy: It just makes me laugh when we get e-mails from people who are like, “I’ve listened to all seven billion episodes and every single one was crap!”

[Laughter]

Joy: And I’m like, “Why didn’t you stop at number two?!” I mean like--

Isabel: Why did you listen?

[Laughter]

Joy: “Maybe the next one will be better!”

Janna: That must’ve taken you a really long time.

[Laughter]

Joy: It’s so hilarious. And we understand that our jokes, our sense of humor is not for everyone; there’s going to be people who don’t like us, but we like to have fun, and we’re not gonna stop being ourselves, you know? We’re not gonna try to start being like, politically correct in the Twilight universe, you know? We just wanna have fun.

Isabel: Find a Twilight-loving podcast, there’s some out there.

Janna: There’s some out there, go find some.

Isabel: It’s the same thing! Don’t bring your hate to my picnic.

Janna: Exactly!

Isabel: I like it without hate.

Janna: What are you ANTS?! Get off my picnic blanket!

[Laughter]

Isabel: I know, go away.

Janna: I mean, seriously, if you follow me, or if you follow any of us on Twitter, you know that we’re equal opportunity haters. We’ll talk crap about anything if it’s funny.

[Laughter]

Isabel: Even ourselves.

Janna: It’s not serious. I don’t think I’ve ever seriously talked crap about anything but, like, my work, or like, anything personally effecting me. I certainly have not like, literally been like, “I hate Twilight! It has ruined my life!”

[Laughter]

Joy: Twilight has ruined my life!

[Laughter]

Joy: There’s a website for you: TwilightHasRuinedMyLife.com I’m gonna Google that.

Janna: Yes, Twilight has ruined my life.

Isabel: Okay, let’s just be happy and love each other, and if you can’t love us, go away. Cuz we love us.

Janna: Go away.

[Laughter]

Isabel: And that’s it. Okay, on to the third part of the Soapbox.

Janna: Bigger and better things.

Isabel: If you guys remember a couple of episodes ago-

[Laughter]

Janna:

[singing generic porn theme song] Bow chicka wow bow chicka wow

[Laughter]

Isabel: Janna has to sing the porn entrance first.

Janna:

[Still singing] Wow wow ba da da da da.

Isabel: Okay, I have a box, do you hear me crinkling the box?

[Yes, you do hear it.]

Isabel: This week, do you remember a couple of episodes ago, we talked about this toy that this company called Tantus Inc. makes. Now, Tantus Inc. makes adult toys. Look! They sent me some stickers. They say: “I still play with toys.” I’ll give one to Janna; there’s one for her, too.

[Laughter]

Isabel: But, piece d’resistance to this package are these-

[Laughter]

Isabel: Hear the squishy packaging?

Janna: Make it go boing! Make it go boing!

Isabel: These are dildos. It’s called the Vamp.

Janna: The Vamp, the Vamp.

Isabel: And it’s pink, and it’s sparkly, and we got it in the mail, and it’s 100% eco-friendly. Guys, talk about -

Janna: Shake it. Shake it. Shake it.

[Laughter]

Isabel: Yeah….so.

Janna: Oh my God! You can hear it whipping back and forth! Do that again!

Isabel: Okay.

[Yeah, you hear it again]

[Laughter]

Janna: Whoosh!

Isabel: Alright, so anyway, we’re really excited. What we’re gonna do with these, is Janna and I are gonna get on and record together. We’re gonna unpack them together and talk about their finer qualities. Size and girth--

[Laughter]

Isabel: --are possibilities, and we’re gonna record that and put it on our really, really sought-after iPhone app that’s coming up, and put it in our member section because since it’s so adult, we have to have some way of quantifying who’s accessing this, and since both of those have to be paid for, we assume that most of our listeners will be adults listening to this recording. And

Joy: For all you non-adults…ask your mom.

[Laughter]

Isabel: Yes, ask your mom for all you guys who are not. E-mail us, we’ll e-mail you the recording if you’ve asked your mom, or something like that. Don’t lie. We’ll know. So yeah, we wanna say thank you to Tantus Inc, they sent us these two for free, and thank you to Brie, our listener who got us in touch with them to begin with to send us some samples. I’m gonna read you guys the packaging cuz this is fantastic.

Janna: Yay.

Isabel: It says, “All Tantus toys are handmade in the USA form the highest quality 100% ultra premium platinum silicone.” It’s the ultimate, guys, the ultimate.

Janna: The ultimate!

[Laughter]

Isabel: You should sing a jingle.

Janna: The ultimate!

Isabel: The ultimate! “The superior quality makes all Tantus Inc. toys hypoallergenic, hygienic, phthalate-free, odorless, tasteless, boilable, bleachable, and completely non-toxic. So that is Tantusinc.com, so -that’s about it.

Janna: Thank you so much, Tantus.

[Laughter]

Isabel: Thank you so much. Members and people who eventually purchase our iPhone app will get the review that Janna and I will do on these.

[Laughter]

Isabel: And that’s about it. Janna I want you to talk now.

[Laughter]

Janna:

[singing] The Vamp! The Vamp! Dah dah dah dah dah!

[Not singing] Okay, well. Moving into listener e-mail -can we just move past this?

[Laughter]

Joy: There’s a good segue.

Janna: This is totally tongue-in-cheek, what we were just talking about. We’re not actually going to fully review these.

Isabel: No, no, no, no.

Janna: That’s not gonna happen. We’re not that dirty, but-

[Laughter]

Isabel: No, we’re not that dirty.

Janna: But we’ll definitely let you know a few things about it, and me and Isabel are gonna have some fun with it, so if you guys are into that kinda thing and you find our humor -

Isabel: Not THAT kind of thing!

[Laughter]

Joy: Oh my gosh!

Janna: That’s not what I meant!

Joy: You guys, I’m cutting this out.

Janna: There’s only so many things you can say!

Joy: Okay well moving on to listener e-mails, we have a great one from Ameena, and Janna’s gonna read it for us.

Janna: Ameena says, “Recently on Stephanie Meyer's website, she revealed the track list for the upcoming 'New Moon' soundtrack. I personally really liked the mix of songs added for the soundtrack itself although I can't help thinking also that there are also a lot of disappointed screaming fans out there who are just... disappointed (lol) to see that Robert Pattinson hasn't made it to the soundtrack like he did with his two songs for the Twilight soundtrack. I personally do not mind that he's not featured as in a way, it's giving him some air space to some extent which I like and is suitable since the manic craze for him is just getting ridiculous now and it's about time fans receive some 'Tough Love'. Sorry If I'm taking a bit long but I wanted you guys to give your take on this, do you hate or like that he's not featured in the 'New Moon' soundtrack. Give us your opinion on this please ?” I actually like that he’s not on the soundtrack. As much as I love Rob-

Isabel: Me, too.

Janna: As a singer, I think he A) deserves a break, and B) I think it’s time to--you know, the soundtrack was so hyped up and there was so much rampant like, rumors about who was gonna be on it that they really had the opportunity to get some amazing people on there, and give other people--Indie artists--the opportunity to come out into such an amazing spotlight. I mean, we’ve all seen what it does, obviously, for our network boys, and for the other people that were on the original Twilight soundtrack, but there are some amazing Indie artists that have been released, and not to mention there’s brand new material from Thom, freaking’, Yorke! Hello! I’m really excited about that. Muse is reworking “I Belong to You.” Obviously, Muse is Stephenie Meyer’s favorite band, so we were pretty sure that they were gonna be on it. Muse is actually my favorite band, as well, and they’re reworking one of the more odd songs on their new soundtrack. So yeah, I’m really excited about it, I’m really happy to see Bon Iver, I’m really happy to see Muse, obviously, and the best thing about the Twilight soundtracks, to me, is that they’re all originally produced songs even if they’re reworkings of other songs, they are all exclusive to the New Moon soundtrack. So even if it’s a song that you’ve already heard from an artist, such as Muse’s “I Belong to You,” It’s gonna be reworked, and it’s gonna be like a whole different song -hello!

[Laughter]

Isabel: It’s gonna be fantastic. I actually--see, I’m into this. Not that I wasn’t into the last one, it’s just not as much. I really liked only some specific songs on the last soundtrack, and I agree, I really like that he’s not on this one, He deserves a break, and maybe he should work on like, private music, like build up his like I dunno, he said he felt violated, I guess, a long time ago -

[Laughter]

Isabel: Playing music live, so maybe it’s time for him to take a step back, for a bit.

Janna: Right.

Isabel: Yeah. But I’m excited. And for everything, and the fact that--what you said--that it’s all reworked just for New Moon.

Joy: And you know, I always kinda got the impression that-

Janna: Plus there seems like -

Joy: On the Twilight soundtrack, that Catherine Hardwicke kind of like, forced Rob to record his songs.

[Laughter]

Joy: Like, he never seemed really excited about it. He was just kinda like, “Yeah, got two songs.” You know?

Isabel: “Okay.”

Janna:

[as Mr. Garrison] “Mmmkay.”

Joy: Plus you know, he’s been so busy. Filming Remember Me, and New Moon, and Eclipse, and everything, like when does the guy have time to sit and write a new song and record? He would have to be really purposeful about it, I think, you know? And I think that’s probably a lot of pressure that he doesn’t want. So, like, as much as I would love to hear some new songs from him because he’s fantastic, I don’t want him to be stressed out, and the soundtrack listing looks fantastic the way it is. I’m really excited. I think it’ll be good. I’ll be happy to get it.

Janna: The Killers are on there, too. St. Vincent’s-

Joy: Yeah, and like you said, a lot of like, unknown--a lot of really great Indie artists who haven’t really made it big yet, so that’ll be great.

Isabel: I love Bon Iver.

Janna: Me, too. I think that’s the best part is discovering. I know some of them just because I’m like a rabid music fan. I know some of the artists on there, but if you look at it, it’s mostly people that the mainstream music lovers will probably not know, and I think it’s an amazing opportunity for them, as well as the fans, to get some sort of idea some sort of new music idea. Like, going a different direction. That’s kind of what happened with Twilight, is that it brought so many other artists into like, the younger generation. Like, nobody young listened to Van Morrison until Rob Pattinson said it was cool.

[Laughter]

Janna: You know what I mean? Nobody did. Like, our age people did, but like 16 year olds were not listening to Van Morrison. I’m sorry, you’re a liar.

[Laughter]

Janna: So, like that’s kind of what I feel like it’s gonna do for these people, and there are some really great artists, so it’s an opportunity for everybody. I’m excited. I love music. I LOVE IT!

[Laughter]

Joy: Okay, well the next e-mail’s from Robyn, and she was like, “One topic I would like to hear on the pattycast is the fact that no news has been told about a UK New Moon premiere... i don't know if there is going to be one but defineltely think we deserve one over here.” Actually, I think maybe about last week or the week before, there was this site that was claiming that the UK premiere had been cancelled for New Moon, and blah, blah, blah. It was supposed to be happening in London, and Dublin, and all this stuff,--they had all this, you know--a huge press release that they issued, and so I thought it sounded a little strange because we hadn’t even heard any information at all about the premiere in the UK, so I contacted the Twi-Lexicon because they always know what’s going on, and so they checked it out for me and said that there was never going to be any UK premiere; that Summit had not had anything organized like that. So, if there ever was going to be one, it was just gonna be like a regular screening, or maybe even like the day before, but there has not been a UK premiere set up at all by Summit. I dunno the reason behind it. I think that would be smart for them to do. I mean, they did one for Twilight, so I don’t know why they’re not doing it, but you know, it could be that maybe they will at the last minute. I don’t know, it just seems strange to me. You know? Because usually that’s kind of your big venue, like LA or New York and London, so I’m not sure what the deal is with Summit. I don’t know, but it was confirmed that so far Summit has not made any plans for a UK premiere, and if they have, they’re not telling anybody, so just keep checking back on the site, and we’ll see if we can get some more info. Right now there’s nothing planned for the UK, sorry. Too bad, it really is too bad because that would be a good location for it. I mean, that’s where they have so many premieres, but -

Isabel: Yeah, as of now, there’s nothing yet. Yeah, I think it would be great for them to do it there because it seems like since it’s an American sort of movie. They don’t -I guess they forget to go over there cuz Harry Potter -

Joy: Well, you know, I mean, I could go on, and Summit just is dumb sometimes, so--

[Laughter]

Joy: Who knows.

Isabel: Yeah, they’re not hip to the jive.

Joy: But there’s so many UK fans, there’s so many European fans who would love to have a premiere. I dunno. But anyway, that’s not my decision.

[Laughter]

Joy: Unfortunately. They should just let me be in charge.

[Laughter]

Joy: Anyway, Isabel why don’t you read the next one?

Isabel: Alright, the next one is from Olivia, she says: “I just have a quick question do you think Rob will be in the commentary on the DVD for New Moon???” You know, I would like to say that he might--he definitely will be--but I don’t know because he’s not really a main character in this movie.

Janna: Yeah.

Isabel: So, that’s a toss-up, I don’t know if he will be.

Janna: That is a toss-up. I didn’t even think about that. That’s true.

Isabel: Yeah, cuz last time it was Kristen, Rob, and Catherine, right? So it could just be Taylor, Rob, and the director this time.

Janna: Yeah cuz it’s true

Joy: They should let Taylor do the whole thing. He’s so funny!

[Laughter]

Joy: He’d be like, “And guys look, you can see the thirty pounds of muscle that I gained!”

[Laughter]

Janna: “Check it out, thirty-five pounds right there. Pa-pow!”

Joy: But I don’t know, I think it would be great if they did all three of them, you know? I mean, Rob and Kristen and Taylor and the director, I think that would be a fantastic commentary, because honestly in the first film, I mean, there were no other real main characters at all. I mean, even Jacob had like two lines, you know? There was nobody else other than Rob and Kristen who carried the film, whereas in New Moon there’s a lot more. So, I would imagine that they would try to get all three of them in there with the director. But I mean, it’s one of those things that we won’t know until it gets a lot closer to the release.

Janna: They may not even do a commentary. I mean, it was popular, but

Joy: Don’t say that! The commentary is the best part.

Janna: They seem to be doing everything different with New Moon.

[Laughter]

Isabel: Yeah, well I mean, even it’s different with us. Our reaction is completely different. We’re like, “Yeah, New Moon, bring it on!”

[Laughter]

Isabel: And so I dunno what’s up with that. I guess just the season to be different.

[Laughter]

Janna: We are unique, just like every other movie.

[Laughter]

Joy: You know what they should do that would be hilarious? Would be to do a video commentary like, where it’s like a small screen in the big screen, you know what I’m talking about?

Isabel: Oh, that’d be so much fun.

Joy: Where like each person would watch the movie, and then in like a little box you would see them sitting there and watching it? That would be hilarious!

Janna: That would be hilarious.

Isabel: Watching themselves? Oh, God.

Joy: That would be so funny.

Janna: I’m watching you watch you.

[Laughter]

Janna: That’s so stalkerish! I’m watchin’ you!

[singing] Every step you take-

[Laughter]

Isabel: This is our last listener e-mails, like, we have -see look! Four e-mails guys, out of--I think we’ve gotten maybe 15, and we couldn’t put a lot of them on here because a lot of them had to deal with, “Do you think Rob and Kristen are dating?”

[Laughter]

Joy: Delete.

Isabel: You can ask us lots of different things!

Janna: Marci says, “I was wondering, just for conjecture sake, do you think if Rob could go back in time, knowing what he knows now about how crazy it all would get, would he take the role of Edward Cullen or do you think he would run, screaming, back to London and become a pianist in some pub? I mean I'm glad he took the role and is still an actor, but I sometimes wonder if he's glad he took the role. I know a lot of the time Kristen Stewart does not look thrilled to be Bella!”

Joy: Yeah, that’s for sure.

Janna: Well, she’s just- she’s very socially awkward.

Joy: You know, to be honest, I think that he would go back and change it all. I really do. Like, because I mean, we’ve heard him say, you know, that he honestly thought that Twilight was gonna be this little Indie film that nobody had ever heard of, and that’s why he wanted the role at first.

Janna: Right.

Joy: He didn’t realize how crazy it was gonna become.

Isabel: It was so surprising.

Joy: Yeah. And not to say that he’s always like, “Oh, I hate Twilight!” I think he’s really enjoyed the experience, so I mean, I don’t know, maybe he will just--I dunno. Maybe if he could go back in time--I mean, which would be awesome--but if he could go back in time

[Laughter]

Joy: Maybe he would. I don’t know. I think if I were him, part of me would want to go back, and just be like, “No way, forget this, I’m gonna change it,” but part of me would be like, “It was a good experience, it was really fun.” Like, I think he enjoys the filming. I think he’s enjoyed being on the set, but I don’t think he enjoys what’s come with it, all the fame and everything. I think maybe he’d go far enough back in time that he would stop anyone from ever hearing about Twilight so that it could stay a little bit-

[Laughter]

Janna: So that it would just be an Indie film.

Joy: Exactly.

Janna: I don’t know, I actually do agree with you, I think that he would go back in time. I know that he I’m sure enjoys the fortune -I don’t even know if I could say fortune cuz I highly doubt that he’s hugely paid.

Isabel: Making that much?

Joy: I don’t think so.

Janna: Yeah.

Isabel: Well, I bet you that he’s making more than he did before, and not just that but in endorsements and like, everything else.

Janna: Right, but I don’t think it’s worth it to him.

Isabel: No. His life has changed so drastically.

Janna: Yeah, like he can’t leave the hotel room.

Isabel:

[laughing] I know!

Janna: I’d slap a bitch!

[Laughter]

Janna: “Get yo’ danky-ass hand offa me you nasty, nasty ho! That’s my hair!” Sorry.

Isabel: Yeah he would definitely, I think, go back and change.

Janna: He can’t even leave a hotel room. He has to sit and spend his entire days in a hotel room which I can tell you is very, very boring. I travel for work and it sucks. There’s nothing fun about it. The novelty wears off about oh, I don’t know, the first time that you’ve ever traveled for work.

[Laughter]

Isabel: Exactly.

Janna: it’s lame! You’re like, “Oooh I got a corporate card! Oooh I -this sucks.”

[Laughter]

Janna: I’m bored.

Isabel: It’s not as fun, anymore. No, and he can’t even go out for a bagel and a coffee without being photographed, or like, “Oh, Rob wore this shirt yesterday. And the day before, and three days ago!” I mean

Janna: “He robbed that shirt off of Marcus Foster’s floor, and visa versa.”

[Laughter]

Isabel: “Tom and Rob share clothes!”

[Laughter]

Janna: Go back!

Joy: He needs like, an assistant to dress him. I volunteer for the job.

[Laughter]

Janna: Yeah, I bet you do.

Isabel: Wait, is that dress or undress, Joy?

[Laughter]

Janna: Both.

Joy: Well, I mean, he’s gonna need help, so I’m just saying, I’m available if he needs it.

[Laughter]

Isabel: Okay, well that’s it for listener e-mails. We actually have two real Tom Sturridge references of the day--well, one of them is real.

Joy: Woo! Okay, well one real and one kind of real.

Isabel: Yes.

Janna: No, it’s real. Do not give them the impression that it’s not.

Joy: Sorry, sorry. Most real Tom Sturridge reference ever.

[Laughter]

Janna: He loves us.

Isabel: TheRealTomStu strikes again. It’s been a long time since we’ve heard from him. Quote-on-quote him. Bunny ears, him.

Janna: Rabbit, rabbit, rabbit, rabbit.

[Laughter]

Isabel: So, this is--his e-mail, he says: “Hey girlz!

[

Isabel: with a ’z’] It's been awhile since I wrote. Sorry, babes. Forgive me. This email is mostly about mah sweater. Didn't you like it? I picked it straight outta my boy Patt'z closet. He was like, "What are you gonna wear?" and I was like, "Dude, not sure. Is there anything that smells clean in your closet?" And that's how we choose mah sweater. -TomStu PS: Don't be hatin on the vampire dildo. They made a cast of his peen and added sparkles for good effect. I should know. I helped with it.”

[Laughter]

Joy: That’s my favorite part.

[Laughter]

Janna: TomStu.

Isabel: Oh God, whoever this is, keep e-mailing us, it’s hilarious.

Joy: Oh gosh.

Janna: He’s the realTomStu.

Joy: Like the highlight of my week.

Janna: And if you have Twitter, TheRealTomStu, you should really be on Twitter.

Isabel: Yeah, you should. We’ll Twitter with you.

Joy: Except sadly people will really, really think that you’re him.

Janna: Really think that it’s real.

Isabel: Think that it’s the real TomStu.

Joy: What if it was?

[Laughter]

Janna: Just get -yeah. Just get that Twitter handle

Joy: TomStu listens to the PattyCast!

Janna: TheRealTomStu, if you’re listening, you need to be ‘@mahsweater’ Twitter.com/mahsweater.

[Laughter]

Isabel: If that’s the

Joy: That would be the best thing ever, let’s just say.

Janna: We can call you Goose and I’ll be your Maverick.

[Laughter]

Isabel: Okay, so speaking of that sweater, which spawned this whole thing--was, we were talking about Tom’s stage debut at the play “Punk Rock“, which--it was in London earlier this month, and our listener, Vicky, she went, and she sent us a little snippet of her time there and how she enjoyed it, so this is Vicky’s e-mail: “I thought I'd contact you as I'm based in London and managed to see Punk Rock last week and I know a lot of his fans would not have had that opportunity. Tom Sturridge was absolutely amazing and he completely captivated the audience along with the rest of the cast. I thought you'd be interested to know that I was lucky enough to see Tom before the show and meet him again after where he spent time with lots of his fans literally five minutes after coming off stage! He was a gentleman and is still very much down to earth!! It was just nice for someone of his status to take time out to see his fans even though he said he was exhausted! It was nice to see the younger fans actually behaving in a civilised way around him too!” So, it sounds like it was win-win for everyone, he met a lot of his fans and the fans really liked the play, and the fans were treating him with respect, so awesome!

Janna: That’s great.

Isabel: Great debut. I dunno, I wish I could see it. Could have seen it. That would’ve been awesome to see him on stage. Alight, that’s it for our real and sort of real TomStu references of the day, let’s hop into network news. So, I’m just gonna do a little review of Sam’s show in Vancouver. Last Friday, he was in a venue, called The Venue, funnily enough, it used to be called The Plaza, and it was -I really enjoyed the venue: the lights were cool, there was some smoke-effect going on, the VIP section was actually the balcony upstairs, which gave the press or whoever was up there a better view of the stage. There were about three bars. The venue was fantastic, I really enjoyed it. Lots of seating, and a big pretty open area in the middle. It wasn’t as full as Richards-on-Richards, but he obviously had his fans en force. We couldn’t even make it up to the stage that night.

[Laughter]

Isabel: But he played a lotta old songs, some new songs. Yeah, we just didn’t wanna push past everyone, I don’t know. It was just packed, really packed up close to the stage. You can’t, like, you get-

Janna: They get serious, his fans, too.

Isabel: Yeah, you get really dirty looks--yeah. I couldn’t even- I’m going to write a little piece about it and have some pictures for you guys,, but I couldn’t even get up front to take as good of pictures as I did the show that we went to before, and--but he has really shown his depth of music in this show. I really enjoyed especially toward the end, he did a spectacular song and you can just see the growth. Like, even the songs that he’s played multiple shows the same time, I just see the growth in him as a musician. It doesn’t sound the same as it did when I first started listening to him. I dunno. Janna can corroborate that, I mean, she’s seen him a couple times, too.

Janna: No, he’s definitely grown, you can see it you can see so much change in him. There’s just so much power in his presence now, and I mean, before he would be so nervous on stage, and you could kind of tell that this was all kind of overwhelming for him, and now he just rocks it. Gets up there and he does his thing and, I mean. It’s amazing.

Isabel: There’s so much soul in it.

Janna: Yeah.

Isabel: So, look out for that piece. It should be out early next week if Janna and I get our acts together, but I really enjoyed myself. I will travel to see Sam, it’s always a great opportunity to go out and see live music, and he puts on a good show. And his mom was there, and it was kinda cute. She was watching him, and it was just really nice. I love the venue. It’s right on Granville Street, if anyone in Vancouver is- or anyone who’s listening is familiar with Vancouver--they close off Granville Street because there’s so much pedestrian traffic. It’s like seriously Club Row, and there’s so many people out until like all hours of the night. It’s just so much fun. So yeah, if you have a chance to see Sam in Vancouver, I highly recommend it. Any more network news?

Janna: Yes, we do actually have more Sam news, speaking of live shows, there’s some good news for those in the Philippines, you haven’t had much of that lately. That’s right folks, Sam is going global. He will be kicking off an 8 mall tour through Manila? Is how you say it?

Isabel: Yes, Manila. There’s more than 8 malls in Manila.

Isabel: He’s gonna have so much fun. He’s gonna have girls screaming it’s gonna be crazy.

Janna: Yeah, I think it’s gonna be a whole new experience for him, yeah.

[Laughter]

Janna: You know what’s great though? We’re gonna be able to see it because he’s filming his trip and his shows as part of a documentary with Zack Spigler, who directed his music video for “Sea Blue,” so we’re gonna be able to- I don’t know when, I don’t know how long it’s gonna take for them to film, if they’re gonna put it up on MySpace like they did his music video--but we’re gonna be able to see the craziness, like, I’m really excited for that. I don’t think he has any idea what he’s in for.

[Laughter]

Isabel: No. It’s really crazy. I mean, just the mentality, like, I used to go there every summer to visit family and stuff like that, but--cuz, I dunno, I guess my sisters and I looked more European than Filipino, like when you go walk in the mall, people stare openly. So if there’s like

[Laughter]

Isabel: If there’s this like, white guy musician--and they love their music in the Philippines, they’re so passionate about rhythm and music and singing, that he’s just gonna love it. I just think he’s really gonna have a good time. I wanna go. Take me, Sam!

Janna: I wanna go, take me Sam! I would go except it’s in a week, and that’s kind of short notice.

Isabel: And that’s not gonna happen.

[Laughter]

Janna: That’s totally not gonna happen, but thanks for trying. He’s gonna have a lot of fun, and hopefully he’ll have just as much fun when he comes back to the states cuz he is coming back. I believe he’s taking a short break, and then he is in November starting off another tour supporting Justin Nozuka; he’s a pretty fabulous musician in his own right. I believe he’s Canadian--I’m not 100% positive, but I think he is. So there should be great show reports coming your way, lots of pictures, lots of reviews, but like Isabel said, he is amazing live, and you can definitely see how much he has grown and changed and evolved, basically.

Isabel: Yes.

Janna: He is no longer That Twilight Guy that everyone started out thinking that he was, and he’s definitely proved to the critics out there that he can stand on his own.

[sigh]

Janna: And, one tiny bit more of Sam’s news. He’s having a t-shirt contest through his MySpace--not a wet t-shirt contest, so keep those pictures on your hard drives, ladies--he does need your help, though, he’s asking his fans to submit their most creative t-shirt designs, and he is not being specific. You can be funny, you can be you know, soulful, you can be anything you want to as long as you keep it professional enough for younger kids that might go to his shows to be able to see.

[Laughter]

Janna: I know, right? The contest ends at midnight Monday October the 5th, but the Brits, they don’t seem to understand that midnight is as the next day, so--

[Laughter]

Isabel: What are they talking about?

Janna: I don’t know if it ends midnight Monday October the 5th, or if it ends Midnight, October the 6th because they totally got that wrong at the Triple-Threat show in Dallas, and everyone was confused. I’m just gonna say it’s midnight either the fifth or the sixth, I have no friggin’ idea. Just

Isabel: Clarify with Sam.

Janna: Just go ahead and try to submit it on the fourth, and you’re good.

Isabel: So who knows, exactly.

Janna: Be mindful of your time zone.

Isabel: Yeah, exactly, synchronize it on your iPhone. That’s what I have cuz I can never figure out what Joy’s time difference is, so I just have to go into my clock to see what time it is.

[Laughter]

Janna: My clock.

Isabel: To see what time it is, my time and her time.

Joy: Cuz I never know what time it is.

Isabel: Yeah, Vancouver, New York, London, and Bangkok. It is 5:55 in the morning in London.

Janna: Contest ends midnight, Monday October fifth, or sixth, or someday. 2009. Submit your designs to imacontender@gmail.com but really just go to Sambradley.com or his MySpace for more information cuz you never know. Where were we? A lotta people were actually asking about Marcus. Marcus is a little mystery man, he’s been MIA forever, but he’s working on his dissertation. He’ll be wrapping it up and he is gonna come back and see us in December. He’s so cute, he’s afraid that we’re gonna forget about him, in his own words, so he’s been dropping hints here and there about new songs, new tours--and it is true, he’s headed back in December, he’s already booked his flights, and you’ll be seeing him definitely in the standard LA, New York, but he has yet to announce the other dates and venues, so you’re gonna have to watch out for that one. I’m sure it’ll come out within the next weeks or so as he finalizes. He just has to finalize venues and flights. So. On to Bobby Long, Bobby Long is in Europe, he finished up his -this is complicated, especially for somebody who’s a stickler like me. He’s on his Dangerous Summer tour, and they’re calling the first leg of the Dangerous Summer Tour wrapped, and then they’re saying they’re coming back from Europe for the second leg of the Dangerous Summer Tour, but it’s not summer. So,

[Laughter]

Janna: I’m not going to be calling it the Dangerous Summer Tour, I just can’t do it. It goes against my nature and all that’s holy.

Isabel: And true.

Janna: Exactly. The Dangerous Fall Tour, I guess, is set to begin end of October-

[Laughter]

Janna: Bobby will be back mid-October coming back to New York, and then he’s going to all the standard places, so check on our website. They are constantly adding new shows, and they are constantly adding new venues, so if you go to our website and you see that a venue has not yet been booked for a specific date on the tour, submit to us, if you would like, suggestions, and we’ll forward them along. If we feel like it.

[Laughter]

Janna: Anywhoozle, that’s all I got for network news, it’s kind of slow, but it’s about to pick up because all of them, once again, as per the beginning of summer are headed back, and they’re going to be on tour all at the same time. Not necessarily all in one place. We don’t know this yet. Bobby and Sam are playing in LA at the same time, but in different venues, so try and figure that one out, guys.

Isabel: We’re heading into the wrap-up, we’ve got a lot of things to talk about in this wrap-up, so try and keep track of our craziness right now, we’ve got-

Janna: Where is Joy?

Isabel: --Things we’re really excited about, the two new sections that we have up, we’ve got the fan section we call our Pattinson Online Connect--it’s the fan section of our site--we’ve got graphics and fan polls, and we’ve got contests, and a world map, we’ve got lost of interactive stuff; there’s a fan chat, and it’s just basically where Rob fans can come together outside of the forums, and whatever, and find lots of activities to do. And we used to have this, and it was really successful, the only problem was that our traffic wasn’t as high as it is now, so we ended up closing it down, but since, obviously, we’ve got a ton more traffic, we decided to open up the fan section again.

Janna: Yay!

Isabel: And the next one that we’re really happy about, too, is the premiere countdown section, where it’s a rotating premiere countdown that we open 60 days before the premiere of any Rob movie. So, of course right now it’s all about New Moon, so it’s New Moon central, again. We’ve got contests, and we’ve got all sorts of New Moon news and premiere information, and all the international film dates, and it’s like if you wanna cut through all the other Rob crap and just get to the New Moon stuff, just go to the premiere countdown section, and yeah, I’m really, really excited about these things, but as always. So, we’re really excited about that. Joy and all of us worked really hard to put that together, and also we want some feedback, like what do you wanna see in there, what don’t you wanna see, and just keep on visiting. There’s always new stuff on the website. Speaking of sort of new stuff that’s not so new anymore, we just wanna remind everyone about Project FLANS, our little side project there about protecting Rob’s privacy and anonymity and -not just anonymity but mostly his privacy, and his private space, and all that stuff. And, it’s not just Rob, Project Flans, we’ve been told, has sort of been taken by a lot of other fans, stretched to different fandoms, and different actors, and we’re really, really happy about that. It’s gotten such good reception -

[Joy laughs in background]

Isabel: It started off so well, I just wanted to remind everyone that since the New Moon mania is already rising right now, just to keep in mind the stuff that we’re going for, and try and keep the project alive.

Joy: We are currently giving away some free stuff, which we love to do. We’ve given away already an Edward poster form Twilight, and our current contest has just closed today. We were giving away a New Moon poster. I still have plenty of stuff to give away, including some posters and lots of other Rob and Twilight-related stuff as part of our New Moon countdown. So, keep an eye out. I always post about them on Twitter, and they always go up on the site. So, if you like to get free stuff, then join us. Usually our contests are pretty easy, you don’t have to work too hard to win. We just like to give away free stuff, so--and of course if you ever have any suggestions for our contests, you know, like “I think you should make people do this to get a prize,” then that’s fine. We usually have people suggest that we should give away an autograph signing with Rob, but yeah, if we had that, we’d be doing it ourselves, so, sorry.

[Laughter]

Joy: We don’t have that much power. But usually that kinda stuff we have is just like, Twilight merchandise. I know Isabel I think still has some more How to Be flyers, you know, we just have a lot of fun random stuff. So, if you have any suggestions for contest ideas, then just send us an e-mail cuz we love to give away stuff. Speaking of contests, we also have our Twi-site awards going on right now. We’ve just finished taking nominations for your favorite Twilight sites. We’ll have voting open until October 20th and the winners will be announced on the 24th, so keep an eye on that. You’ll be able to vote multiple times for that for your favorite fan sites. We do appreciate everyone who tried to nominate us for the fan site awards, even though, you know, we are running the contest, so that would be kinda weird, and we’re not taking celebrity sites, we’re only taking, like, actual Twilight content sites. But it was nice to see people nominating us anyway, so thanks for that.

Isabel: So we’re still looking for news posters on the website. We’re looking for people in north and south America, and in other parts of the world. Please do apply, it’s a very rewarding position, you get to be a part of the staff of the web’s top Rob site, you definitely become part of our little staff family, you get to be on the frontlines of the fandom, you get to know what’s going on 100%, and you get to see basically the inner workings of the website, and of course all positions are volunteer. We’ve gotten a few requests for quoting some sort o f wage, it’s- all site jobs are volunteer only, and we are willing and happy to welcome new people to our staff, so please check out the application. It’s in the site section under job openings. So we’re coming up to the end of our wrap-up stuff, but we just wanted to add a bit of a thank you for the lovely e-mails we get, sometimes we don’t have time to respond to them, but these are all the positive and lovely e-mails we have concerning all the work we do on the site and on the PattyCast, and we appreciate and we read all of them, we just don’t always have the time to respond, so. Speaking of that, we are going to segue into our anniversary plans because a lot of people have been e-mailing us about it, and it’s getting us hyped up because we’re really excited about our anniversary. C’mon guys, are you excited? I’m really excited.

Janna: Woo!

Joy: Four years, we’ve been online for four years, it’s ridiculous.

Isabel: A babay. It’s a babay! And a toddler, now. So people have been e-mailing us, again, just really awesome people emailing us about how can help with the anniversary, or how can they show their support, or how can they show their thanks. We’ll be opening a Pattinson Online birthday wall, kind of like the Rob wall, but just for the website, cuz four years is a long time and people seem to want to write us things. So, it’s interactive, you write your message, it shows up on the birthday wall, and as always our answer is the best way to show support is through membership because we wanna give back to you, too, and all proceeds from the memberships go straight back into running the website. It’s just growing so big and expanding, and we love what we do, and we are so grateful that we, people who run the website and the website itself, have so many fans.

Joy: Yeah.

Isabel: We just can’t say enough about how grateful we are about that.

Joy: And we have so many amazing things planned for the anniversary in November.

Isabel: Oh yeah.

Janna: So excited!

Joy: So keep a look out. I mean, we have been planning this for months, and we’ve got a lot of great stuff in the works.

Isabel: Just so much fun stuff.

Joy: So we’re super excited. It’s gonna be really awesome.

Isabel: Okay, that’s it for our show, thank you for joining us, thank you for keeping listening to us and supporting us and lobbying us and we like it here..

[Laughter]

Janna: Yes. I’m comfy.

[Laughter]

Isabel: I’m comfy too. Bye from Isabel.

Joy: And from Joy.

Janna: And from Janna, the queen of interrupters.

Isabel: Good night!

Janna: Good night!

Joy: Night!

[Outro]
