Annalisa wrote an amazing letter to Perez Hilton, and she’s given us permission to repost it here!
 
Dear Perez Hilton,
 
I understand that your job gives you a lot of satisfaction; you must experience a lot of instant gratification from what you are able to do with in the media machine. I wonder though, do you think about ethics? Natural guilt; which is the sense that ethically something isn’t a good idea to go ahead with; that’s if you were to stop and listen to yourself, not the experience of feeling guilty after the fact.
 
Perez, you’re worth more than this. You must know that. Are the people that have respect for you for this gossip business you have, the type of people you really want respect from? These people that don’t care if their instant gratification is at the cost of someones emmotional, mental well being. Not every entertainer/personality copes well with gossip, with pressure from their fans, with no privacy to work and live. You can understand and accept what I’m saying here Perez, can’t you? Are you aware that you actually have caused Robert Pattinson and others I’m sure, to experience overwhelment, confusion, fear, anxiety and more. I can’t believe that you believe, knowing the individual personality Robert is; which you must know by now, that he wants this for his career, for his personal ego, for his daily experience as an entertainer. Robert as far as I have come to understand him, is grateful to his fans, and the media who have been communicating with the fans about respectful issues, and subjects of interest. But that’s it. He really has zero interest beyond this point Perez. I think you know this as well.
 
Well known artist Jeff Koons once said, and believes, and I quote, “Art is communication – it’s the ability to manipulate people. The difference with show business or politics is only the artist is freer.”
 
Perez, there’s no doubt that entertainers benefit from the media. And there’s been no doubt that it’s clear which entertainers don’t feed off of it. Robert is an entertainer that I think can and is willing to creat a relationship with the media to facilitate each others successes that is ethical for both parties involved. He is gracious about this Perez, I believe you know this.
 
I believe that you could be just as successful respecting Roberts wishes, (and others who clearly display zero interest in the media machines negitive side), as you are now, though with more respect, and respect from people who are ethical, decent and bloody cool. You know you do have the ability, the means, and a reason to make a stand and be a leader in your field by changing this whole dynamic within your own business, and also speak out about it to create understanding and positve outcomes in the media, therefore the public as well. I’m sure you are an intelligent person Perez Hilton; this isn’t beyond your capability. And I dare say that you are a person who has the ability to focus on a result and bring it about. You have already shown us what you can do.
 
Please take some time, when you are by yourself in the comfort and privacy of your own home to think about this. Please print this out and ponder on what I have spoken to you about here. You have an ability to influence change, ethical change in our society, and therefore gain a success, and a personal power you’ve never experienced.
