Fox All Access talked with Rob at the WFE press junket today and asked him how he will look back and reflect on the Twilight movies. Check out what he had to say below!

Composer Carter Burwell has a wonderful section on his website where he tells the whole story behind “Bella’s Lullaby”, the song he wrote for Twilight back in 2008. He also talks about Rob being chosen to play the piece in the film.

I came to Oregon to meet Catherine Hardwicke and see some of the film she was shooting, Twilight. She mentioned that the producing company, Summit Entertainment, had just requested that a new scene be added to the film. The scene existed in the novel but hadn’t originally been part of the screenplay (films are not one-to-one translations of books). In this scene Edward would play piano for Bella. I wasn’t officially working on the film at that point and they didn’t know what Rob Pattinson (Edward) should play during the shoot. This is not an unusual situation - many films have an actor sitting at a keyboard, swaying back and forth, pretending to play music that was only written after the film has been shot and edited. This case was unusual in that Rob is a fine musician, and fully capable of playing the piano or probably any other instrument.

He also discusses Summit’s desire to change his composition to fit the target audience.

The suggestion that teenage girls would want a sweet tune was somewhat condescending, and that was something I tried to avoid in this score. Also I don’t believe it’s possible to know how music will affect someone else, even though film composers claim to. The unpredicability is what makes it interesting (although I understand that’s not what the investors want to hear). And can you imagine what it would be like - as it was occasionally on this project - trying to compose music to satisfy a director who’s trying to satisfy a male executive who’s trying to satisfy ten million teenage girls?

The results are in for Extra’s Entertainer of the Year 2010 poll, with The Twilight Saga coming in at #2!

Ah, the ultimate love triangle between vampire, werewolf and human! “The Twilight Saga” cast flies in at No. 2 on “Extra’s” Entertainer of the Year list.

Stephenie Meyer’s bestselling novels — about a girl named Bella Swan who falls in love with vampire Edward Cullen, while also forging a close friendship with werewolf Jacob Black — made the tween set (and their mothers) swoon, launching a literary phenomenon in 2005 on a par with “Harry Potter.”

And then came the films. When the first “Twilight” movie was released in 2008, young stars Kristen Stewart (“Bella”) and Robert Pattinson (“Edward”) were catapulted into teen idol-dom, with hunky Taylor Lautner (“Jacob”) following their path in “The Twilight Saga: New Moon” in 2009.

This past summer, the third film, “Eclipse,” opened to huge numbers, grossing over $300 million domestically. The highly anticipated fourth book, “Breaking Dawn,” will now be made into two movies, to be released in 2011 and 2012.

The Simpsons spoof of Twilight—Tweenlight—aired this Sunday. In the episode, Lisa falls in love with the mysterious vampire “Edmund” after he saves her from being crushed by a schoolbus and runs away with him, and Homer must go to Dracula-la Land to save her before he turns her into a vampire.

In a recent interview with YRB magazine, Kellan Lutz mentions Rob when he talks about not regretting turning down an audition for the role of Edward in Twilight, saying:

I don’t think I would have played a great Edward. I think what Rob [Pattinson] does with it is mind-blowing. They need someone like Rob to really give Edward so many layers without doing much.
