Hot in Houston

RFlattz had a very busy weekend with Adriana in Houston!

Howdy, R-Flattz! He arrived in Houston and met the family including my cyclops doggie, Pooh Bear. I showed him around my room. He saw my Rob corner, my keyboard, some of my books and magazines, my movie collection, my dolphin Finnyas, dino Alex, and my Route 66 license ‘cause I love to travel. Logged on to my computer and said “Hi” to the girls at Spunk’s Girls! Saw some of the garden. I love movies, so I took him out to the midnight premiere of Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides in Sugar Land. Hung out with friends at Sugar Land Town Square next to the Stephen F. Austin fountain, then went to the movies and actually met a pirate.

Took R-Flattz to my favorite university hang out - English pub, The Black Lab next to the University of St. Thomas, and caught a game of outdoor giant chess. Then took him to see the Houston skyline at night and passed by my favorite space city Houston-themed mural at Texas Art Supply and drove by the Mecom Fountain at night.

R-Flattz and I picked up my goddaughter and headed to a screening of Kung Fu Panda 2. I had a special treat for her afterwards, ok - it was probably a bigger treat for me, but she still had lots of fun. Thanks to Angie Thompson from Crowne Plaza next to the Astrodome and Reliant Stadium, we were able to get a special tour of their historic P.T. Barnum Suite. On our way home, saw that the football soccer Gold Cup is coming soon, and hopefully later in the year, we’ll also get to see Manchester United make a trip back to Houston.

After mass, church activities, and quick window shopping at the Galleria mall, took R-Flattz, my goddaughter, and my cousin to catch a bit of the Art Car Parade along Allen Parkway near downtown Houston. People are so creative. Drove by the Museum District (sorry the picture of RFlattz at the Contemporary Art Museum’s sculpture entitled “Molecular Three and Three” by James Surls didn’t come out so well), stopped atMecom Fountain, and saw the lightrail pass by the statue of Sam Houston. It was a pretty hot day - not unusual here - so we headed home. Had a big family BBQ dinner waiting for us on our return- how did they know that we had to send R-Flattz off in style :) ? The family and R-Flattz played volleyball, and our team won!!! Sad to see R-Flattz go :*(
