After he joined the Barnes Theatre Company he landed roles in ‘Macbeth’ and ‘Tess of the D’Urbervilles’ before moving on to his first film role, Giselher in Ring of the Nibelungs, quickly followed by the role of Older Rawdy Crawley in Vanity Fair. Robert met director Mike Newell in 2003 and a week later was offered the role of Cedric Diggory in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, which launched him into the public eye. He went on to film several television movies and independent films before landing the role of Edward Cullen in the blockbuster Twilight series. His career has continued to expand with roles such as Remember Me and Unbound Captives.
