Joy sees the casting announcement for the role of Cedric Diggory in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire and decides that Robert Pattinson is the only man she will ever love.
October 2005
In preparation for the release of Goblet of Fire, Joy begins working on her very first celebrity fansite. Things do not go well:
GAH HELP ME.
I have been trying for HOURS to get either CuteNews or PivotNews to work on my site, and both keep saying that I haven’t CHMOD’ed my files correctly, but I KNOW I HAVE. Over and over and over again! I want to kill something.
*sobs*
November 2005
Pattinson Online officially opens! It is hosted on Freewebs for about 2.5 seconds before Joy gives in and buys some hosting and a domain – www.pattinson-online.net. Seriously ugly green and black layout featuring this picture.
December 2005
Joy gets sick of the ugly layout and makes a slightly less ugly one. She has also seen Goblet of Fire 14 times by this point. Her friends think she is insane.
January 2006
Joy makes yet another layout that is so ugly, it kills the site.
The server that PO is on crashed this morning but apparently the admins at Surpass are working on it… grr. Although I have to say that this is my first server crash as an official site owner (meaning one that I’ve actually paid for and is not hosted on Geocities or something equally as lame), so I feel that this is a momentous occasion. Which means absolutely nothing except that I will probably make icons. Ha.

Isabel joins the staff as Chief of Awesomeness co-web. She saves Joy from many headaches.
Another new layout, uglier than the last.
The site experiences its first tragedy:
I spent all last night and today trying to move Pattinson Online to the new host. Many headaches, tears, and cries of “ZOMGNOOOOOOOO!RARARARARARAR!” were experienced.
Staff members Siobhan and Kyle travel to Collectormania GMEX and interview Rob for the site. Rob is adorable as usual.
Joy puts up an ugly brown layout and spreads the awesomeness around.
Isabel: We’re the first link listed in wikipedia

Tara joins the staff as newsposter and our lives are forever changed.
Joy decides to torture herself by learning how to make various layout skins.
Pattinson Online reaches 60,000 hits and is averaging about 1,000 hits per day.
Pictures appear for the first time of Rob out in public with a girl. The fangirls go wild.
Much weeping and gnashing of teeth over this one. And lots of “zomg she iz so fuglee nd fatt why dos he lyk her!?1 rob u cant lyk her bcuz ur mine!!1!!” which Isabel and I promptly stamped out. I mean really, did you HONESTLY think you had a chance with him? LOLZ. Be happy that a handsome guy like him has found a girl he likes who obviously is more than just another blonde bimbo.
And I actually saw this comment:
well we cant really say that we hate her cuz we dont know if that IS his gf.. but if it so happens to be the matter…
Yeah, we’ll hate her when we get confirmation. LOL.
Pattinson Online launches its first birthday project for Rob and opens up the Pattinson Online Shop.

Isabel and Joy do a complete overhaul on the site and open up a fan section and a contest section.

Pattinson Online gets its first award – Site of the Month at Elite Fan Pages.

Pattinson Online gets a new domain – www.robert-pattinson.co.uk – and Joy puts up yet another layout.

Rob sends us a personalized thank-you note for the birthday gift we sent him.
Today I checked my mailbox at school and received a thank you from Rob for our site birthday present that we sent to him in May! Click on the thumbnails to take you to see the pics in the gallery. I tried to take clear pictures of it, but just in case you cannot read it, the front says: To all @ Pattinson online Best Wishes + Thanks Rob Pattinson x and the back says: Thanks 4 the birthday gifts x ENJOY!

Rob is rumored to be playing a vampire in After Dark. Much speculation about whether Rob would be good at playing a vampire. Future selves are amused at the irony.

Pattinson Online moves to a new host and the entire gallery is deleted by accident. An entire month of newsposts disappear. More tears are shed.
November 2007
Joy and Isabel forget the site’s birthday yet again and are properly ashamed of themselves.
December 2007
Isabel calls Joy at the crack of dawn and tells her that Rob has been cast as Edward Cullen. Ear-shattering screams are heard around the world.
Tara becomes Senior Staff and world domination begins is a paragon of virtue.
The forums are reopened after being closed for over a year.
January 2008
Tara creates a new layout and it is more awesome than all of Joy’s layouts put together.
February 2008
Joy, Isabel, and Tara are interviewed by The Movie Fanatic and discuss the inner workings of the site.
Joy transfers Pattinson Online to WordPress and nearly goes insane trying to make it work.
The forums are down for a few weeks after being attacked by spammers.
Pattinson Online gets hacked by Satan’s minions and there are tears shed yet again. Dustin the Tech Guy saves us from total destruction.
April 2008
Pattinson Online gets a virus and takes some sick days Dustin saves us yet again.
Rob’s birthday project is launched.
The forums crash completely and we have to start from scratch.
June 2008
Pattinson Online undergoes a complete overhaul. A temporary site is put up for several weeks until the grand unveiling.
July 2008
Joy, Isabel, and Tara are interviewed by Eclipse Latinoameria.
Pattinson Online re-opens the Media and Press Archives and gets awesomer by the minute.
Isabel and Tara travel to the San Diego Comic-Con and endure long lines and rabid fangirls in an attempt to meet Rob. Joy stays home and posts news around the clock. Isabel is granted her wish and gets to meet the cast of Twilight. Rob and Catherine Hardwicke are impressed by Pattinson Online’s long life on the internet, and Rob expresses his gratitude to Isabel for the site.
The staff records the very first site podcast.

Joy puts up a new layout and the Film & Theatre Archive is launched.
Pattinson Online goes 100% paparazzi-free.

Isabel hosts a fan meet-up in Vancouver.
PattyCast is officially launched. Yet another outlet for fangirling.

Happy birthday, Pattinson Online! We celebrate with a contest and the launch of the Music Archive.
The site gets too big for its britches and the host tells us to either upgrade or move out. Desperate times call for desperate measures, so we ask the fans for help. We are deeply moved by the overwhelming response.
December 2008
We experience some downtime while we move servers, which turns out to be a disaster as usual! At least our new host has good customer service!
The Patty Christmas Project is a big hit – we collect over 6,000 songs to send to Rob!
We launch the Members Only section in order to raise funds to keep the site running.
January 2009
Happy New Year! We run two contests and our members show off their creativity.
February 2009
We experience the biggest site crash in our three year history… our server crashes and burns and we lose two months’ worth of data. Bloodcurdling screams are heard. We rebuild the site almost from scratch.
We launch the Quote Archive as a reward for our members’ patience!
The Pattinson Online Network makes its debut with extensive information about Rob’s friends Bobby Long, Marcus Foster, and Sam Bradley.
