Extra’s Entertainer of the Year 2010Comments Off

Posted by // Categories: Awards // Tags: ,,

The results are in for Extra’s Entertainer of the Year 2010 poll, with The Twilight Saga coming in at #2!

Ah, the ultimate love triangle between vampire, werewolf and human! “The Twilight Saga” cast flies in at No. 2 on “Extra’s” Entertainer of the Year list.

Stephenie Meyer’s bestselling novels — about a girl named Bella Swan who falls in love with vampire Edward Cullen, while also forging a close friendship with werewolf Jacob Black — made the tween set (and their mothers) swoon, launching a literary phenomenon in 2005 on a par with “Harry Potter.”

And then came the films. When the first “Twilight” movie was released in 2008, young stars Kristen Stewart (“Bella”) and Robert Pattinson (“Edward”) were catapulted into teen idol-dom, with hunky Taylor Lautner (“Jacob”) following their path in “The Twilight Saga: New Moon” in 2009.

This past summer, the third film, “Eclipse,” opened to huge numbers, grossing over $300 million domestically. The highly anticipated fourth book, “Breaking Dawn,” will now be made into two movies, to be released in 2011 and 2012.

You can check out who else made the list HERE.

This Halloween you can watch all three Twilight films during the LA Fantasy Film Festival at the Warner Grand Theatre. You can purchase tickets for each individual film or the discounted price package for all three. Here’s what Warner Grand Theatre had to say about the screening;

For the Twi-hards, it’s all three films in one day! From the original Twilight (2008), to Twilight Saga: New Moon (2009), to the recently released Twilight Saga: Eclipse (2010), enjoy this 21st century vampire romance series on the big screen. The Twilight films are based on the original award-winning novels by author Stephenie Meyer. They follow the life story of Bella Swan, a teenager from Washington State who falls in love with Edward Cullen, a 104-year-old vampire. Costume contest precedes the films. $8 for each movie or $20 for all three!
