Director Francis Lawrence’s latest romantic drama “Water for Elephants” starring Reese Witherspoon and Robert Pattinson will open the Shanghai International Film Festival.
The opening ceremony is bound to be a spectacular with over 300 celebrities from home and abroad walking the red carpet.
Among them are media mogul Keith Rupert Murdoch and his wife Wendi Deng; Hollywood star Susan Sarandon, Matt Dillon, and Mischa Barton; director John Woo and Feng Xiaogang; and of course Barry Levinson. Levinson is the president for the seven-member jury for the Golden Goblet Awards.
The ceremony will be held at the Shanghai Grand Theater at 6:30 p.m. this Saturday, June 11.

1‘Water For Elephants’ shows real promise by topping Australia’s Box Office. Due to it having great reviews, and the huge promotion during it’s premiere visit to Australia.
Australian audiences flocked to see Twilight star Robert Pattinson’s romantic period drama Water for Elephants over the weekend, keeping Australian star Chris Hemsworth from hammering out a number one spot for Thor.
The $2.6 million in ticket sales for Water for Elephants also drove Fast and Furious 5 out of the top spot at the box office, dropping to a non-podium fourth placing behind Source Code, which was steady in the number three position.
The Kate Hudson/Ginnifer Goodwin romantic comedy Something Borrowed slipped one place to number five, while the animated Little Red Riding Hood sequel Hoodwinked Too! gained one place to number six.
In their first week out the Rose Byrne horror movie Insidious and the James Franco comedy Your Highness debuted at number six and seven respectively, while the modern remake of Arthur continues to slide out of the top ten, rounded out by animation Rio.Top 10 at the Australian box office this weekend:

4‘Water For Elephants’ actor, Scott MacDonald speaks about Robert in a new article about the film.
Scott MacDonald grew up watching movies in the Dome Theater and later this month a film in which he stars in will be shown at that same theater.

He says “Twilight�? star Pattinson is a genuinely great guy.
MacDonald gets in a number of fights with Pattinson in the film and says both of them were pretty bruised up, but Pattinson didn’t complain once.
