I loved it. It was a beautiful movie that made me cheer, laugh and cry. Rob was great and should be proud. Hopefully this will put to rest any doubts of his acting abilities. All the acting was great and Tai the Elephant was just spectacular. The only thing I missed from the book was seeing old Jacob in the nursing home arguing with the old guys about carrying water for Elephants. That always made me chuckle. But I didn't really miss it because the movie was just SO good : )
The movie was phenomenal! Actually instead of being distracted by Rob's awesomeness, and not paying enough attention to the movie, I was distracted by the movie's awesomeness, and didn't pay enough attention to Robert! Now I have to go back to see it a second time just to focus on him.
I have to say, from what I did see of him he was pretty awesome. And that's just not his awesome beauty! He played Jacob perfectly…what Francis Lawrence said about Robert having a purity about him…is so true. He was emotionally raw in some parts, and fierce in others, ineffectual and frustrated in others, and just fearlessly in love and full of awed wonder in others.
One thing I did notice pretty clearly was the way Jacob looked at Marlena performing in the ring, was the same way I have seen Robert look at Kristen when she accepts awards, and he's in the audience. He really brings his realness to his role of Jacob.
This movie was phenomanl.the thing that made me cry was when august was beating the animals.this movie had me at the edge of my seat.the end i was the only one clapping at the end.it suprised me in the movie how jacob had a passion for animals.reese had a kind of cat and mouse additude like they would kiss and then she would run but she was awesome.i highly recommend this to anyone who hasnt seen this so drop whatever your doing and go to the nearest thetater
It was amazing. Loved the cinematography, the acting of all the characters, the animals were fantasic. It has been a long time since I've been so impressed by a film. Francis Lawrence and the source material he had to work with were great for the big screen. It's a success at the box office, and I'm sure Rob and his family are proud of this film!
I just came from seeing this movie. I don't follow Rob Pattinson & I didn't know who was in it, some friends asked me if I wanted to see it so I said ok. It was a great film, very touching and I never thought Rob was hot until now, lol!
Film is wonderful, kind, beautiful, spectacular!
Robert’s acting worthy of the highest praise.
The best moment is when he goes to look at his dead parents.
My heart aches and stops of empathy.
what language did the elephant understand?
@ Roxsane. Polish. Rob's family were from Poland.
I loved the movie and will return to see it again. I think Rob did an awesome job. I could feel the pain, both physical and mental, the fear, the happiness and the anger of Jacob. I loved almost everything about the movie. There were times the pace slowed and sped up or hurried through the romantic part. In the book they cuddled and talked. But other than that, I thought it was a gem.
Fantastic movie. Beautifully shot, well acted, and really captured the feel of the 30s. Rob was truly beautiful in this movie. I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Honestly I love this movie. it was so amazing to see such a beautiful cast perform so well together! The story was instantly captivating, and the time period was very well done… I was absolutely entranced by Rob… I couldn’t help it! But he even gets lost in the character. You forget you’re watching Rob and Resse… They become Jacob and Marlena. I loved seeing Rob with an elephant, they are my favourite animals… So many of Rob & Tai’s sweet scenes evoked awww moments. I didn’t enjoy the animal beatings. But it does portray the cruel brutality faced by many animals in circuses. I also must give a nod to Hal- Great job. The whole cast ROCKED. Can’t wait for the DVD… I’ve seen it 3 times. Definitely a favourite.
The movie was great and there was one spot that I actually got distracted by his eyelashes…not sure how or why, but they just sucked me in. LOL. I went with a friend Friday and plan on going with my husband this weekend! Yea. The theater was packed and had been sold out the 2 previous showings on Friday.
